Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv Saturday evening to protest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to begin annexing parts of the West Bank next month.

 

Police initially sought to block the rally but backtracked Friday after meeting with organizers, who urged participants to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

 

Dozens of officers were securing the demonstration after police said attendance would be capped at 2,000, though the Haaretz daily put turnout at 6,000 people in what appeared to be the largest protest in the country since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

The demonstration was organized by the left-wing Meretz party and the communist Hadash faction of the majority-Arab Joint List, along with several other left-wing rights groups.

 

MK Nitzan Horowitz, the head of Meretz, told the crowd that annexation would be a “war crime” and cost Israel millions as the economy is already reeling due to the pandemic.

 

“We cannot replace an occupation of dozens of years with an apartheid that will last forever,” shouted a hoarse Horowitz. “Yes, to two states for two peoples, no to violence and bloodshed,” he continued. “No to annexation, yes to peace.”

US demands Taliban act to reduce violence

 

The US has launched two airstrikes against Taliban targets in Afghanistan on Thursday and Friday, the first such strikes since the Taliban had an Eid al-Fitr ceasefire deal with the Afghan government late last month.

 

Details on why these attacks were launched weren’t clear, but the US spokesman said they were defensive in nature, and subsequently demanded that the Taliban reduce violence. Despite this constant demand from the US, the amount of violence in Afghanistan is substantially down since the ceasefire.

 

The US deal was meant to stop direct US fighting with the Taliban, and by all indications, the Taliban has not attacked US forces. The US, however, has intermittently attacked Taliban forces, insisting they are sticking up for the Afghan government.

 

The Taliban and Afghan government are meant to have talks, but slow Afghan reactions on the prisoner release has stalled this effort. The Taliban has urged the US to try to convince the Afghan government to back the process, but so far this has not meant much.

Fake Police Arrested, Allegedly Filming Video to Frame Real Cops as Racist

 

Police in Paris have arrested three men accused of impersonating officers in a video that attempted to portray real police as racists in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests.

 

The arrests were made on Sunday, but details about the incident remained unclear. Early reports suggest that the three men dressed as officers and a director and cameraman filmed a video in which the fake police arrest a black African man in front of a supermarket for theft while the real thief, a white man, is purposely let go.

 

According to investigators, the uniforms used were real and were connected to a Paris police officer who is thought to have loaned them to the actors.

 

Loïc Walder, delegate of the UNSA Police union in charge of the 3rd district, reacted negatively to the video, saying: “Some malicious people try to use this drama to bring the French national police into disrepute. It is really important to be extra vigilant about content we view online.”

 

He stated that France was not the same as the United States, and added: “The national police exercise their profession with professionalism, seriousness, and discernment. The rare abuses are systematically punished.”

 

Later in the week, the fact-checking website Check News, which is operated by the left-wing newspaper Liberation, spoke with the director of the film. He claimed it was meant to be a tribute to George Floyd, whose death had sparked protests and riots in Minneapolis and later across the United States.

 

“The goal is to send a message of peace,” the 22-year-old claimed. He insisted that the original idea was to show a man stealing inexpensive goods and showing a similar scenario to George Floyd’s death, with a police officer on the thief’s neck.

 

He went on to note that an extra had proposed that they change the film to show a black man arrested falsely for the crime of a white man during the filming. He states that no scenes were actually filmed due to the police intervention and subsequent arrests of the actors.

 

“When the police arrived, they didn’t want to know anything, and they didn’t let us explain. One of the extras also expressed himself poorly: when a police officer asked him to explain what the video was, he replied that it was a racist video,” one of the actors said.

 

“We wanted to explain that it was a tribute to George Floyd, but they didn’t want to hear us,” he added.

 

Just days after the arrests, Paris erupted into riots following a protest over George Floyd and the French case of Adama Traoré, a black man who died in police custody in 2016.

It actually makes sense to do a complete gut job and rebuild it from scratch, to bring it up to modern standards and provide the quality and quantity of electronic and security infrastructure that the White House really needs for the 21st century.

 

Seventy years is a long time. My house was built in 1990, and I've had to rip out and replace loads of shit already.

Manhattan DA Won't Prosecute Curfew Violators, Urges More Protests

 

New York City authorities have hit upon a brilliant strategy, one that Neville Chamberlain would certainly approve of.

 

Give the rioters and protesters everything they want while looking the other way as they trash the city. Appeasing mobs and dictators doesn’t work out very well for the appeasers. But those who are being appeased make out like bandits — literally.

 

The Manhattan District Attorney didn’t exactly get on his knees and grovel to the mob. But his stomach-turning statement on why he wasn’t going to prosecute curfew violators should make decent, law-abiding people turn away in disgust.

 

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr. today announced the D.A.’s Office’s policy regarding arrests on charges of Unlawful Assembly and Disorderly Conduct during ongoing demonstrations against the use of excessive force and killing of George Floyd. Previously, the D.A.’s Office’s policy was to offer individuals charged with these low-level offenses an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal, meaning their cases would be dismissed within six months. Under the new policy, the D.A.’s Office declines to prosecute these arrests in the interest of justice. The Office will also continue to evaluate and decline to prosecute other protest-related charges where appropriate.

 

“The prosecution of protestors charged with these low-level offenses undermines critical bonds between law enforcement and the communities we serve. Days after the killing of George Floyd, our nation and our city are at a crossroads in our continuing endeavor to confront racism and systemic injustice wherever it exists. Our office has a moral imperative to enact public policies which assure all New Yorkers that in our justice system and our society, black lives matter and police violence is a crime. We commend the thousands of our fellow New Yorkers who have peacefully assembled to demand these achievable aims, and our door is open to any New Yorker who wishes to be heard.”

 

I get an image of Neville Chamberlain waving a piece of paper in the air and proclaiming “peace in our time.”

 

Not prosecuting curfew scofflaws and disorderly protesters will lead to more of the same. And if the district attorney won’t stand up and enforce the law, who will?

 

A curfew is not a suggestion — like when your parents used to tell you to be home by midnight. It’s the law. It’s critical in order to keep the city from going up in flames that protesters understand that actions have consequences — even minor actions like breaking a curfew.

 

But Vance defeats the entire purpose of imposing a curfew in the first place.

 

The D.A.’s Office’s policy is designed to minimize unnecessary interactions with the criminal justice system, reduce racial disparities and collateral consequences in low-level offense prosecutions, and enable the Office and court system to preserve resources for the prosecution of serious crimes. If evidence emerges that any individuals personally participated in violence against police officers, destruction, or looting, such individuals will be charged with appropriate crimes.

Anons, I live in a small town in eastern Tn. and was just told (2nd hand but reliable) that a local cop was called in today on his day off. It seems that the rioters are being bused in today. So far we have had only peaceful protests. This is a VERY bad move on pantifa or whoever's part because we are rural and mostly armed and loaded with bubbas who have probably been liking their lips watching what has been going on on the idiot box. Anti-Government Protests in Beirut Explode Into Violence

 

Thousands of anti-government protesters, angry at continuing economic hardships in Lebanon, clashed with security forces in downtown Beirut on Saturday.

 

Hundreds of violent protesters pelted the parliament's building with stones and smashed shop windows before moving to central Martyrs Square, where thousands were holding a peaceful protest, a Sputnik correspondent said.

 

The demonstration quickly descended into chaos, with protesters hurling rocks and firecrackers at security forces, who responded with volleys of tear gas.

 

Rival protests were held by those opposing Hezbollah's influence on the government and Shiite supporters of the Lebanese militant group.

 

Troops were called in to disperse the crowd. In response, demonstrators set a police motorbike on fire and barricaded the road with burning tires and trash cans.

 

Peace returned to the iconic square, the centre of last year's protests that toppled the previous government after the military held brief negotiations with the crowd.

 

Lebanon has seen months of pro-reform protests since frustration over the government's inability to stop currency depreciation brought people into the streets in October. Prime Minister Hassan Diab, who took office in January, has been in talks with international creditors to secure a financial lifeline for the nation.

“Francis is a big problem for the church and his liberals will ultimately destroy it,” Bannon said. “His open border policy on immigration won’t help, either.”

It is little wonder that Matteo Salvini, the hard-line far-right Bannon protégé is also a Pope Francis hater, even bragging last week that he has never asked for an audience with the pontiff.

Viganò was the apostolic nuncio, or ambassador, to the United States from 2011 to 2016. He was a harsh foe of Francis long before he was elected as pope in 2013 and one of the first to speak out when he was coronated. He was the one who set up the ill-conceived handshake with same-sex marriage opponent Kim Davis on Francis’s first visit to America. He was also the one who penned a lengthy testimonial last July in which he claimed that Francis knew all about McCarrick’s illegal behavior but covered it up. And for that, suggested Viganò, the pope ought to do the church a favor and resign. A month later, Viganò had gone into self-imposed exile.

British Airways Threatens to Fire and Re-Hire Pilots on New Contracts

 

In a letter issued by its pilot union to all members, British Airways has stated that it will fire all its pilot workforce and offer jobs under new terms and conditions, should no agreement be reached with the union.

 

The letter sent out by the British Airline Pilots’ Association, BALPA, viewed by AirlineGeeks to all its members, has informed pilots that British Airways has also increased the number of redundancies the company expects to make following the impact of the Coronavirus on the aviation industry.

 

“BA advise us that as a result of their revised fleet plan the new notice has increased the proposed number of pilot jobs under threat from 955 pilots to 1080. This excludes the 175 jobs under threat as a result of the company’s efficiency targets,” BALPA wrote.

 

The adjustment means that from a total of 4,300 pilots across British Airways’ fleets, a total of 1,255 pilots could potentially be dismissed, up from the original figure of 1,130. The airline had given notice of the original figure back at the end of March, as part of a wider 30% cut in its workforce across the company.

 

The letter also informed pilots working for the British flag carrier, that if they do not accept any changes to working terms and conditions, they could potentially lose their current job and be re-hired on a different contract.

 

BALPA said, “British Airways intention to see changes to terms and conditions is restated in the updated S188 (legal notice to the union). However, crucially it states that if BA and BALPA are unable to reach an agreement, the company would seek to force changes by terminating the employment of all pilots and offering individuals new contracts with associated new terms and conditions. We cannot begin to describe the level of disappointment and annoyance this has caused.” Brian Strutton, General Secretary of the pilot union, said he is, “appalled at the cavalier attitude shown by BA. It calls into question whether BA is even capable of conducting industrial relations properly and whether anything they say can be trusted…talks with the airline hang by a thread.”

 

Willie Walsh, CEO Internation Airlines Group, which owns British Airways, has been publically speaking regarding the changes across the company. Speaking to Sky News on Friday, the out-going boss said, “I am not involved in the consultation, it’s the responsibility of the BA management team. The reports I get are that some progress has been made.” In an attempt to help reduce the number of pilot redundancies, BALPA has been trying to work with the airline since notice was originally given. All pilots took a month of unpaid leave spread out over three months instead of being placed on the government Job Retention Scheme, whereas most cabin crew were put on furlough.

 

Following the discussions with the union, British Airways said that any potential furloughed pilots being placed on the JRS would come from the Airbus A380, Boeing 747, A320 Gatwick as well as some A320 Heathrow fleet.

 

British Airways has faced a barrage of negative media following the virus pandemic. It has also given its cabin crew union the same ultimatum of accepting new contracts or potentially making a large number of crew redundant on their old contracts. Saturday’s news comes as no surprises as airlines across Europe look to take advantage of reducing the cost of its workforce as a way of redeeming some of the losses that have affected airline finance departments.

 

British Airways has yet to make a comment.

Colombia’s Supreme Court Opens Another Criminal Investigation Against Former President Alvaro Uribe

 

The net may finally be closing in on Senator and former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. He is Colombia’s equivalent of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, constituting the epicentre of power politics for almost two decades since he was first elected president by a landslide in 2002. He served in that capacity until 2010, and has remained one of the most powerful personalities in the Colombian political-military establishment ever since.

 

Although many of his closest lieutenants and associates have been prosecuted and are serving long prison sentences for crimes committed during this period (2002-2010), and in many cases Uribe has been implicated in them and it is inconceivable that they could have been commissioned and carried out without his knowledge, he has thus far managed to divert and avoid all accusations against him notwithstanding a large number of outstanding investigations which seem to be frozen in time and lost in space.

 

There are a multitude of investigations pending before a Congressional committee that show no signs of progress after many years. There are about a dozen investigations before the Supreme Court that remain stuck in the preliminary stages, again in some instances for many years. As some of the cases have approached preliminary hearings, the Supreme Court has found its position threatened as Uribe’s political colleagues and allies in the Congress have been trying to push through sweeping changes to the judicial system which coincidentally would abolish the Supreme Court completely. Earlier this year the plenary bench of the Supreme Court abdicated many of its powers when the sitting magistrates failed to reach agreement over the appointment of new members.

 

Finally, on numerous occasions key witnesses against Uribe have turned up dead (it still flabbergasts me, why can’t prosecutors and magistrates take testimony at the moment a witness is identified or very shortly thereafter – in this respect, former paramilitary chief Salvatore Mancuso could well be at the top of the endangered species list).

1200 Public Health Experts Advocate Mass Gatherings Because "White Supremacy" Is Bigger Threat Than COVID-19

 

1200 public health experts have signed an open letter asserting that Black Lives Matter mass gatherings should be encouraged because “white supremacy” is a bigger health threat than COVID-19.

 

“White supremacy is a lethal public health issue that predates and contributes to COVID-19,” states the letter, before adding, “Black people are twice as likely to be killed by police compared to white people, but the effects of racism are far more pervasive,” (a claim which is completely misleading given that black people are far likelier to be involved in violent confrontations with police).

 

The letter goes on to basically assert that COVID-19 isn’t a threat, so long as people are protesting against racism, which is a bigger threat, a completely ludicrous assertion that sounds like it came straight from a far-left protest group, not 1200 public health experts.

 

“As public health advocates, we do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission,” states the letter. “We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States.”

 

The letter then claims that ‘stay-at-home’ protests shouldn’t be treated the same because they “not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism and run contrary to respect for Black lives.”

 

The health experts then go on to assert that BLM protesters shouldn’t be arrested, shouldn’t be held in vans and that tear gas shouldn’t be used against them due to the threat of it exacerbating symptoms of people infected with COVID-19.

 

The letter also says that facemasks should be ‘celebrated’ and not seen as an easy way for criminals and looters to hide their identity.

 

Commenting on the letter, journalist Michael Tracey tweeted, “The letter was drafted by infectious disease “experts” at the University of Washington, which has been integral in studying the coronavirus in the US. They write that “pervasive racism” is now “the paramount public health problem,” superseding the virus. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!”

There are many key differences in the way the War against the Kittim and the War of Divisions are described. The War against the Kittim is referred to as a day of battle with seven stages, with the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness each winning three of the first six before final victory for the Sons of Light by divine intervention in the seventh. While it is unclear if this is meant as a literal 24-hour period, it does not seem to describe a protracted battle. After the War against the Kittim there is a six-year period of preparation culminating in the restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem. The beginning of the description of the War of Divisions says that there are 33 years of war remaining of the total 40 years of the war. In the War against the Kittim each side will fight alongside angelic hosts and supernatural beings and final victory is achieved for the Sons of Light directly by the hand of God. New York & California Freed Thousands Of Criminals & The Riots Began

 

New York City released over 2,650 criminals from prison to protect them from the pandemic. But they didn’t stay home or wash their hands. They went back to their old jobs and 100 of them accounted for 190 arrests for crimes like burglary and robbery. A rapist was released and he went back to raping.

 

One of the freed criminals was responsible for 18 burglaries at closed eateries. And when he was arrested, the end of bail meant that he was set loose. This looting was going on long before the riots.

 

Now, as the rioters and looters rule the streets of Manhattan, when the police manage to arrest them, they have to quickly let them go.

 

“When it comes to a burglary, a commercial store, which is looting, they’re back out,” Chief Terrence Monahan said. “Because of bail reform, you’re back out on the street the next day. You cannot be held on any sort of bail.”

 

Of the 650 thugs arrested, almost all will be released back on the street to riot and loot again.

 

Los Angeles County released about 5,000 criminals accounting for around a third of imprisoned criminals. And with no bail, arrested criminals were set loose and then arrested again. In the first 30 days of the experiment, 213 criminals were rearrested again after being put back on the street.

 

Sacramento County’s jail population fell 30%, Orange County’s prison numbers dropped by 45%, Detroit’s jail population dropped by 40%, Philadelphia’s by 17%, and Denver’s by 41%. Massachusetts freed 1,000 criminals while Illinois freed around 4,000. Dallas released 1,000 criminals and Hennepin County, the home of the riots that went on to sweep major cities, reduced its prison population by 44%.

Facebook has begun adding labels to news articles it publishes from “state media” to warn readers about where their news is coming from.

“The concern for us is state media combines the agenda setting power of a media entity with the strategic backing of a state,” Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook’s head of security policy, told CNN Business. “If you’re reading coverage of a protest, it’s really important you know who is writing that coverage and what motivation they have. The goal of this is to ensure the public will see and understand who is behind it.”

 

Facebook is so far labeling news from only two state media outlets. It’s hardly surprising who they are: Russian government-owned Sputnik and RT, and Xinhua, China’s national news agency.

Military retirees can still be court-martialed, Supreme Court affirms

The Supreme Court decided last week not to review the case of a retired Marine who was court-martialed and convicted of sexual assault in 2015, upholding the Pentagon’s authority to prosecute retirees for crimes they commit even after leaving the service.

 

Larrabee “was subsequently convicted by a court-martial, pursuant to his pleas, on one count of sexual assault and one count of indecent recording in violation of Articles 120 and 120c of the Uniform Code of Military Justice,” according to court records.

 

The military judge sentenced Larrabee to eight years’ confinement, a reprimand, and a dishonorable discharge. As part of a pre-trial agreement, however, his prison term was reduced to 10 months.

 

In September 2018, Larrabee filed a petition for his conviction to be overturned on appeal based on the argument that he should have been tried as a civilian. Before starting my writing, I would first of all like to give thanks and glory to God the Father for every situation and trial that He has prepared and will prepare for me during my life. As a priest and bishop of the holy Church, spouse of Christ, I am called like every baptized person to bear witness to the truth. By the gift of the Spirit who sustains me with joy on the path that I am called to travel, I intend to do so until the end of my days. Our only Lord has addressed also to me the invitation, “Follow me!”, and I intend to follow him with the help of his grace until the end of my days.

It has been a month since I offered my testimony, solely for the good of the Church, regarding what occurred at the audience with Pope Francis on June 23, 2013 and regarding certain matters I was given to know in the assignments entrusted to me at the Secretariat of State and in Washington, in relation to those who bear responsibility for covering up the crimes committed by the former archbishop of that capital.

 

My decision to reveal those grave facts was for me the most painful and serious decision that I have ever made in my life. I made it after long reflection and prayer, during months of profound suffering and anguish, during a crescendo of continual news of terrible events, with thousands of innocent victims destroyed and the vocations and lives of young priests and religious disturbed. The silence of the pastors who could have provided a remedy and prevented new victims became increasingly indefensible, a devastating crime for the Church. Well aware of the enormous consequences that my testimony could have, because what I was about to reveal involved the successor of Peter himself, I nonetheless chose to speak in order to protect the Church, and I declare with a clear conscience before God that my testimony is true. Christ died for the Church, and Peter, Servus servorum Dei, is the first one called to serve the spouse of Christ.

 

Certainly, some of the facts that I was to reveal were covered by the pontifical secret that I had promised to observe and that I had faithfully observed from the beginning of my service to the Holy See. But the purpose of any secret, including the pontifical secret, is to protect the Church from her enemies, not to cover up and become complicit in crimes committed by some of her members. I was a witness, not by my choice, of shocking facts and, as the Catechism of the Catholic Church states (par. 2491), the seal of secrecy is not binding when very grave harm can be avoided only by divulging the truth. Only the seal of confession could have justified my silence.

 

Neither the pope, nor any of the cardinals in Rome have denied the facts I asserted in my testimony. “Qui tacet consentit” surely applies here, for if they deny my testimony, they have only to say so, and provide documentation to support that denial. How can one avoid concluding that the reason they do not provide the documentation is that they know it confirms my testimony?

Now, the pope’s reply to my testimony was: “I will not say a word!” But then, contradicting himself, he has compared his silence to that of Jesus in Nazareth and before Pilate, and compared me to the great accuser, Satan, who sows scandal and division in the Church — though without ever uttering my name. If he had said: “Viganò lied,” he would have challenged my credibility while trying to affirm his own. In so doing he would have intensified the demand of the people of God and the world for the documentation needed to determine who has told the truth. Instead, he put in place a subtle slander against me — slander being an offense he has often compared to the gravity of murder. Indeed, he did it repeatedly, in the context of the celebration of the most Holy Sacrament, the Eucharist, where he runs no risk of being challenged by journalists. When he did speak to journalists, he asked them to exercise their professional maturity and draw their own conclusions. But how can journalists discover and know the truth if those directly involved with a matter refuse to answer any questions or to release any documents? The pope’s unwillingness to respond to my charges and his deafness to the appeals by the faithful for accountability are hardly consistent with his calls for transparency and bridge building.

 

Moreover, the pope’s cover-up of McCarrick was clearly not an isolated mistake. Many more instances have recently been documented in the press, showing that Pope Francis has defended homosexual clergy who committed serious sexual abuses against minors or adults. These include his role in the case of Fr. Julio Grassi in Buenos Aires, his reinstatement of Fr. Mauro Inzoli after Pope Benedict had removed him from ministry (until he went to prison, at which point Pope Francis laicized him), and his halting of the investigation of sex abuse allegations against Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor.

 

In the meantime, a delegation of the USCCB, headed by its president Cardinal DiNardo, went to Rome asking for a Vatican investigation into McCarrick. Cardinal DiNardo and the other prelates should tell the Church in America and in the world: did the pope refuse to carry out a Vatican investigation into McCarrick’s crimes and of those responsible for covering them up? The faithful deserve to know.

 

I would like to make a special appeal to Cardinal Ouellet, because as nuncio I always worked in great harmony with him, and I have always had great esteem and affection towards him. He will remember when, at the end of my mission in Washington, he received me at his apartment in Rome in the evening for a long conversation. At the beginning of Pope Francis’ pontificate, he had maintained his dignity, as he had shown with courage when he was Archbishop of Québec. Later, however, when his work as prefect of the Congregation for Bishops was being undermined because recommendations for episcopal appointments were being passed directly to Pope Francis by two homosexual “friends” of his dicastery, bypassing the Cardinal, he gave up. His long article in L’Osservatore Romano, in which he came out in favor of the more controversial aspects of Amoris Laetitia, represents his surrender. Your Eminence, before I left for Washington, you were the one who told me of Pope Benedict’s sanctions on McCarrick. You have at your complete disposal key documents incriminating McCarrick and many in the curia for their cover-ups. Your Eminence, I urge you to bear witness to the truth.

Make your own the act of faith and complete confidence in Christ Jesus, our Savior, of Saint Paul in his second Letter to Timothy, Scio cui credidi, which I choose as my episcopal motto. Some things I’m thinking about that should change (in that Southern, black grandmama voice):

 

  1. White people, if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty.

 

  1. White people, if you’re inheriting property you intend to sell upon acceptance, give it to a black or brown family. You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.

 

  1. If you are a developer or realty owner of multi-family housing, build a sustainable complex in a black or brown blighted neighborhood and let black and brown people live in it for free.

 

  1. White people, if you can afford to downsize, give up the home you own to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

 

  1. White people, if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists assholes, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

 

  1. White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing.

 

  1. White people, especially white women (because this is yaw specialty — Nosey Jenny and Meddling Kathy), get a racist fired. Yaw know what the fuck they be saying. You are complicit when you ignore them. Get your boss fired cause they racist too.

 

  1. Backing up No. 7, this should be easy but all those sheetless Klan, Nazi’s and Other lil’ dick-white men will all be returning to work. Get they ass fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious.

 

  1. OK, backing up No. 8, if any white person at your work, or as you enter in spaces and you overhear a white person praising the actions from yesterday, first, get a pic. Get their name and more info. Hell, find out where they work — Get Them Fired. But certainly address them, and, if you need to, you got hands: use them.

 

  1. Commit to two things: Fighting white supremacy where and how you can (this doesn’t mean taking up knitting, unless you’re making scarves for black and brown kids in need), and funding black and brown people and their work.

Buffalo police officers arrested after shoving 75-year-old protester

Two Buffalo, New York, police officers are now facing criminal charges in connection with the graphic caught-on-video shove of a 75-year-old man during a protest, prosecutors said.

 

Officers Aaron Torglaski and Robert McCabe were charged with second-degree assault during their video arraignments on Saturday and were released on their own recognizance. They both entered no guilty pleas and are expected back in court on July 20.

 

The Thursday protest at Niagara Square had less than 20 demonstrators and several members of Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team, officials said. One of the protesters, Martin Gugino was seen on video walking in the direction of the crowd of uniformed officers when Torglaski and McCabe allegedly shoved him.

 

Gugino fell flat onto his back and bumped the back of his head on the concrete, video shows. The sound of the man's head hitting the ground silenced the crowd, according to the video. A trail of blood can be seen seeping from the head of the motionless man as several officers walked by him.

"

Mr. Gugino has been a longtime peaceful protester, human rights advocate, and overall fan of the U.S. Constitution for many years. At this time, Mr. Gugino is in serious but stable condition. He is alert and oriented," said Kelly V. Zarcone, Gugino's attorney, in a statement.

 

Another officer, possibly a National Guard member, who went to aid the bleeding man was pushed by fellow officers, the video shows.

The spokesperson for the city and police department, Mike DeGeorge, initially said in a statement that the man "tripped and fell." "Once the department became aware of additional video from the scene, they immediately opened an investigation," DeGeorge told ABC News on Thursday.

 

Both officers were suspended and the Erie County District Attorney John Flynn launched an investigation. The police union opposed the suspensions and in response 57 officers on the emergency team resigned from their positions, but will remain on the force.

 

The county executive for the area said at a press conference on Friday that Flynn had a "history of prosecuting officers who break the law, I trust him to do the same in this matter."
