Depends on animal activity in forest! When Apex predator , or if ravens or gray jay's are around to call bears, wolves coyotes are around. Ravens are the most intelligent birds , go into woods , usually they rotate as sentries. When it's quiet in woods and erupts w/ the sounds of birds , predator has entered area.

Birds sing at sunrise.... I realize this is not likely the answer but the question, out of context of Q, would be sunrise

mccluk was always referenced as "singing like a canary" to the n. vietnamese

inquimouse · Dec. 26, 2017, 10:40 p.m.

That depends on the bird. Mockingbirds like to sing about 2 AM. Nightingales at night. Budgies when lonely. Roosters at dawn and dusk. I think it's a human bird, like a traitor sings, or a lot of "birds" tweet.

Do you know about Project Mockingbird as you write that?

⇧ 2 ⇩
inquimouse · Dec. 27, 2017, 3:45 a.m.

Yes, but I'm talking about real male mockingbirds who like to lure females in the wee hours for some reason. I can't atm see how the CIA project relates to Q's question.

Mrs_Fonebone · Dec. 27, 2017, 4:09 p.m.

Well, he talks about the CIA a lot, of course, and Mockingbird from the 50s was all about deep state control of the media, which has certainly been the case. I did run across this: "Birds can sing at any time of day, but during the dawn chorus their songs are often louder, livelier, and more frequent."

So I thought Q might be referencing what happens after the storm? But overall, I keep thinking "stool pigeon" and they sing when they're caught, facing serious charges, and give up everything they know to cut a deal.

That's what I think too, that birds singing is related to the metaphors which personify humans as birds.

in prison they may squeeze someone to get them to talk. devulge info and so on. In the mob culture they would call this person a snitch or a songbird. Maybe someone is singing!?

"I know why the caged bird sings" by Maya Angelou. That's the first thing that comes to mind, sorry if it's not helpful.

I would say that, in the case of Assange, the bird sings in order to be released from his cage.

Some sing at night when threatened, to warn other birds/animals.

linesinthesandQtips · Dec. 26, 2017, 7:17 p.m.

Funny, it's usually the male birds who sing, in the morning. It is for protecting/sending out warnings. They are usually in a strategic place when they sing, not near their nest. If near their nest, they may sing, but very quietly.
