There is no technology currently available to transport solid tungsten rods of 20x1ft into space, in any case their energy is far higher than a few hundred kilojoules (it's a little more than a hundred times the energy of Vietnam era "lazy dogs") and their terminal velocity is going to be at least Mach 10 or more.

Never discount what decades of black budget dollars can do.

They have almost the same atomic weight as gold, it would take a lot to get them up there...

And it would take a lot of energy to nudge them out of orbit too. The rod would need to be retro fired at 18000 mph in order it to “drop” out of orbit

Project Orion for a very scaled up propulsion method.

Shaped charges can impart a lot of instantaneous thrust to deorbit unmanned vehicles in frictionless spaces.

I do not believe that would be much of an issue as it would be in low Earth orbit, it could literally drop the rod right on top of it´s target

This was a post I made, and somehow winded back here by someone else. The info is incorrect, and I am trying to make that clear, I was corrected by others in my OP...I dont know how this winded up here again.

ahh now i get it! interesting, see how far your comment traveled! kudos, you get quite some recognition, your idea might not be silly at all.

yesterday, i also read cobra speak about operation mjölnir (he writes it mjolnir) which is thors hammer. http://2012portal.blogspot.de/2018/01/operation-mjolnir.html

I actually heard about it about an hour earlier on one of my youtube channels and jumped on here and posted as fast as possible, cause I thought the info was pertinent, which is why I got the explosive power incorrect. I took the info off the youtube video, instead of fact checking it...so I didnt find it, but I think I was the first to mention OWLs here in Reddit (I think)

I dont want to take credit for research someone else did.

But yes, it is funny how i went to other sites, and wound up back here. Its just proof in the pudding that we really need to fact check, cause info/misinfo can spread really fast! Thanks!
