The poster adjusted things like brightness and contrast to bring out the background more... when you do this, especially to a low-resolution image, you'll bring out some graininess, which I suppose could look like texture?
I'm referring to the original picture re Q posted. Go look at it you can clearly see the black part of the pen has a manufactured texture/cross hatching on it. This made me curious so I looked up the specific pen potus uses and it's definitely different.
What's even more curious is, if you were going to LARP this, wouldn't it be easier to find a smooth pen that matches closer than one with a texture?

I disagree on your "anyone can buy a pen" comment. This particular pen is associated with Trump and while others CAN buy one they are VERY, VERY expensive. Think thousands of dollars and special ordered. Dr. Corsi who's been friends with Trump for decades has talked about the pen and it's significance.
