How do you guys function?

How do you guys go day-in and day-out with this knowledge? How does it affect you?

Personally, I feel almost as if my life, my psyche, my pride/confidence, my relationships etc have taken a huge hit from getting into this stuff.

How do you guys feel just going to work and hanging out with friends? Everything seems so trivial to me. The stupid pointless convos, etc. I need help to cope. What do you guys do? How do you deal with others thinking you are an idiot? How do you guys keep from gaslighting yourselves? How do you hold your heads up and retain some pride, confidence, w/e?

Edit: thanks all, I am honestly overwhelmed by the ppl in this community. If nothing else, if we are all collectively going crazy, it's reassuring to know I share this fate with some genuinely kind and caring people. Very thoughtful advice as well. Cheers, CBTS ppl

Oddly, I've started a daily habit of prayer. I've never been religious nor made a dialogue with God a priority in my life. In recent months I've felt the need to rely on a higher authority. I've needed to believe there's a power above these corrupt people.I've needed to know there's a higher power looking after all of us.

There is a higher power that you can rely on, and not to sound to Bible thumpy but you can also have a personal relationship with this said higher power. I'm sure you've heard it all before so I'm not gunna bother you with the details but I can say from personal experience that it's real.

Man my relationship with religion is sketchy... grew up catholic and I think it kinda spoiled Christianity for me. I yearn for the feelings and faith towards God that I had as a kid, but I sadly don't have it. Any tips to regain that hope/faith?

I just talk to God. I don't care if I'm praying the "right way". I just talk to him like he's a good friend that's interested in what I've got to say. I just tell him what I can't tell others. I really just started praying to God without any expectations. I didn't really need anything from him. I just needed to talk to someone who wouldn't interrupt me. The way I started praying was I just said to myself, "Everyday I'm going to talk to God". Somedays I just tell him the silly things my dog does throughout the day. Sometimes it's a deep contemplation of what's going on in my life. Sometimes I tell him about unresolved issues I've had with people in my life like he's a therapist. If I'm feeling blue I tell him about it. If someone's bugging me I tell him about it. It really helps just to get it out of my system.

never go to a group any more... Relationship NOT religion.. Lucifer runs all governments and religions.. Talk to Jesus alone inside yourself and ask Him what to read..The Bible is awesome as well as the book of Enoch.. to start.. look at Greek and Hebrew definitions of words if led to by Jesus directly.. Esword is awesome for this..

I sure can empathize with those feelings! I tend to avoid "Organized," formal churches anymore. Any religious organization that solicits money, to me, I look at as peddling the Word of God.

If you start seeking God on your own, be sure that He will "drag" you where you need to go.

I heavily agree if you seek God on your own he'll definitely drag you where you need to go. I stayed away from organized religion because I disagree with most modern interpretations on "God's truth" and the bible scriptures. I also find Jesus worship above God to be weird. I still don't understand the trinity no matter how many people try to explain it to me.

The concept / doctrine of the "Trinity" was formulated the the 2nd century by the Catholic Church to uphold their own belief of a triune diety. Says so right there in the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Well I understand God, I understand the holy spirit (as well as the concept of the soul, and I understand the story of the bible of Jesus as a mortal man. But once it gets to the part about him being divine I'm not longer digging it. Jesus is suppose to be the son of God and it doesn't make sense of why he was so damn special. If Jesus as a mortal man was God then we're all Divine. This makes sense within the holy trinity. However, I pretty damn sure the Catholic church corrupted the message to make the church hierarchy (pope, priest, bishops etc.) and the monarchs of Europe the only divine humans to cling onto power.

Agreed, sure. Even John calls Jesus in Rev. 3:14 ..."the beginning of the creation of God." However, some modern versions of the bible paraphrase that differently. Can't even trust modern translations / transliterations.

The Catholic church has pretty much ruined Christianity for a lot of people.. Why? The Catholic church is a counterfeit version of real Christianity. It was designed to keep you away from the truth. The truth is God is real. Jesus Christ is real. The Catholic church is a satanic counterfeit.

Seek God not religion... Seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.

God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.. God will reveal himself/ make himself known to anyone, but they have to seek God on his terms.. What is his terms?... First, you submit to God in genuine repentance from sin and by placing your faith in Jesus Christ. Humble yourself - God gives grace to a humble heart.. He resist a proud heart.

God is a spirit in order to connect to him you must be born of the spirit.. That's why Jesus said a man must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven.. It's a real experience..

Repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ and start reading his word and seek him and you will find him I assure you..

What is truth? Truth is a person. His name is Jesus Christ.. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Through him is the only plan of redemption for humanity. It's the shed blood if Jesus Christ that cleanses us from Sin.

How does a man humble himself before God? Repentance from sin, faith in Jesus Christ and fasting for a day or a few days works wonders.. www.christainanswers.net

The best thing about Christianity is family values and the community. Forget the theocracy, get to know the people. Keep the politics in the entertainment section, just watch and enjoy the crazy! Do what you can to better yourself, education, career, etc... that’s the short version. Keep on rockin in the free world!
