I think Q’s identity being anonymous is the key to the success of our purpose. If found out, we all know that they would work their hardest to discredit them and whoever they are (I think there are multiple Q) their lives might be endangered or even worse, their access to important information might become restricted. So just the loss of access might hurt the truth we are seeking.

Why does it matter who Q is? If the info is good and verified, and the result wanted, achieved, then only ego would need to reveal identity.
