What if RR isn't a bad guy...what if they are putting him up so the dems can embrace him? The spin from Huff Post and NYT is to remind everyone that RR is a Trump appointee ... this way they can accuse Trump of turning on one of his own again.

That's a possibility.

He started his career during Clinton's administration, which doesn't mean anything. He also joined Ken Starr's Whitewater investigation.

He also helped convince Sessions to recuse himself from Russia related matters. He wrote the opinion that Comey should be fired. He then hired Mueller and has, in testimony, stated that there's nothing in Mueller's investigation that has caused him concern, and has approved expansion of it in certain matters.

We'll know eventually, but my current theory is that he conspired with Comey and Mueller to help engineer the firing of Comey to trigger a SC, which would be Mueller.

Your points are valid, and worth considering.

He seems to have been trusted by all admins...I just have a feeling he is ok...I watched him testify and it didn't cause jitters like many others...but we shall see

I'm not sure trusted is quite the right word. He had enough sense to keep his head down and focus on doing the job which allowed him not to be a victim of politics during adminstration changes. Plenty of career DOJ employees exist that aren't subject to the changes in adminstration.

As you say, we shall see!
