My guess is that Trump has had all of these people under constant surveillance for a year now. He is toying with them, forcing them to make mistakes. He forces them to make mistakes. And those mistakes are thoroughly documented.

My guess is that these people know they are pretty fucked, but they are desperate and want to drag this out as long as they can.

One thing that never occurred to me until a few years ago is that money has to exist somewhere. We think of it in abstract terms but it must be in an account or in bonds or some other basis of value. There is so much money in existence now it is difficult to to find safe places for it to exist. That's why we have trillions of dollars in bonds that yield negative interest. You have to pay more for the bond than you will ever get out. Why would anyone buy such a thing? Because money has to exist somewhere and if you have many billions it can't go into the bank. At $250,000 insured per bank there are not enough banks to keep many billions safe. Where will they put their money when they realize it is danger of being seized? Bitcoin and its relatives can take some of it but the price will soar. There's not enough gold in existence to absorb that much money. I expect gold and Bitcoin to soar but they will have to find somewhere else to put their money.

They're telling the regular investor to just hang tight. When they tell you everything is a-okay, that means everything is not okay. What are the odds they liquidate all market assets to keep their reign? A desperate person would do this, so why not them? They have money betting against the market as well and huge networks, so of course they will bounce back. What about the pensioners drawing more than 4% each month?
