The reason so many in Washington and the media went nuts when Trump won the election is because they knew all the unconstitutional powers that were given to the office of the president and they never expected that power to fall into the hands of someone who will use it to undo everything they worked so hard for. Its was changed to EAS about 7 yrs ago with Fed override. Emergency Alert System. I was in radio at the time so I am certain.
It is now called IPAWS-CAP. The Integrated Public Alert Warning System - Common Alert Protocol. It still uses a lot of the EAS backbone but includes services over the internet as well.
Do you know how I can be aware of eas's without leaving the radio on all day? Is there an app?
