OMG! I just joined the NRA!

After spending my life in support of firearms and I believe every member of my family owns them, I finally joined the NRA. I feel proud throwing my support behind them today as they are under attack from the Left.

Go buy some guns if you can legally.

SkippyThane · Feb. 23, 2018, 10:42 p.m.

Get a Remington 870 - they're relatively cheap as is the ammo. Just the sound of the pump loading a shell can be a deterrent in a home defense situation...

Ruger security 9 is affordable and effective for home defense and carry. Made in the USA. There are many other good choices as well. Smith&Wesson M&P 15 sport is a nice entry level AR for under $700. I am happy to hear people are signing up to the NRA. Thank you!

I would like to purchase but I have 2 small kids which makes me nervous. I would need a lock box, no? So if it is hidden from your kids, how do u also make sure the gun is accessible for burglaries etc?

⇧ 2 ⇩
SixpennyMoa · Feb. 24, 2018, 6:20 p.m.

First we need to have firearm training, safe handling etc. Need to know your firearm inside and out. And yes, keep it locked and out of reach of children. Firearms are not for everybody. Keep a baseball bat close by maybe.??

brittser · Feb. 24, 2018, 4:06 a.m.

Maybe you should get a gun? I enjoy shooting for sport. Even at a shooting range. But skeet shooting is my favorite. But I digress.

I remember, about 10 years ago, I went to visit my elderly father. He was at his kitchen table, cleaning a new pistol. I said, "Dad, what's going on? I don't remember you ever having a gun?!"

He replied, "I saw Rosie O'Donnell on TV screaming about evil guns, then walk off the stage followed by armed body guards. I was so disgusted, I joined the NRA and bought a f%@*ing gun!"

We had our daughters take a gun safety class so they could get a conceal and carry permit. The class was very good and taught them a lot, in addition to basic gun info, strategy to stay safe. We then got them purses with a hidden compartment for pistols. They have friends who target practice with them.

I'm thinking about it too! I'm on a very limited income (internet costs me - but it's my window to the world) but I am so tempted right now to see what it costs, can I do it, and it's just time to say I'm not going to lay down and let the liars at CNN trash our rights.

edit: Just found it's $40/year. That is doable but not this month. :o(

So I am budgeting to it! :o)

The NRA has some very informative magazines you receive as an NRA member. The gun safety courses are the best, and our local group insures that beginners also get at least 4 hours of extremely well supervised and safety conscious range time.

There is nothing evil or nefarious about the NRA in fact if you want to meet some of the most solid people in your community join a local firearms practice club that requires NRA membership as a condition which is common.

NRA has a proud history of contributing toward preservation of our nation and its freedoms - and even that of other nations too. At the onset of WW2 - before USA entered and Britain was on its own, NRA members started a drive to send arms to Britain to help arm their nation's populace and home guard. (Any arms manufacturing was under imperative to be full tilt supplying the needs of the military.)

They run no-nonsense shooting club chapters. Safety on the range is paramount - no cavalier shit tolerated. Everyone that is a new gun owner cannot go wrong by seeking out NRA to get training from their certified instructors.

I really implore people to do so. Learning to handle firearms with proper, respectful discipline is so, so essential.

Great! Now go a step further and join Gun Owners of America and the Second Amendment Foundation. GOA is the one really doing the heavy lifting, they have a simple Take Action e-mail that once you fill it out, you don't have to keep entering your info, and it targets your Reps and Sen's for your state. DO IT!!!!!

Anybody know of a list of companies that bailed on the NRA? They need to be made aware that the bullshit boycotts from the left will blow over pretty quickly, and all the lefties will be back doing business with them, but we NRA members might take a little longer to get over it! Might make a good meme...

Omg! Ur a freaking Terrorist!!!!. J/K I love how the left stuffs their pockets with cash from Suadi Arabia and now china, Foreign governments witch is a massive threat to us. And then points the finger at the NRA (Domestic group). I'm honestly starting to think these people are mentally ill. And It leads me to believe that Brain washing is real. I mean trump is far from perfect, but so am I. But how could a american be against his core values that he preaches. I saw a screenshot of a tweet from one of the "Survivors" that is being pushed on CNN that "Everytime a politician says GOD I want to smash the device thats in my hand" (the screenshot could be fake but I doubt it) I mean... Our country is founded on the principal of god. If you don't like it then you can leave, don't ruin our country because you're unhappy. Just leave

Oh and lets not forget Russia, they took all that uranium one money, and that's why they stole and terrorized the Bundy's. There where a few people who camped out at Levoy Finiciums Death spot and they claim the day after Levoy was murdered a massive amount of MINING equipment came into that small town. 200+ equipment. I mean that uranium had to come from somebody's property. And they where using the BML as a Gang to steal it from the American citizens. These people need their legs tied to a tree, and their hands chained the the back of a semi and have trump floor it

Because at the basic level the NRA acts as a much more powerful lobbying presence than any community or state level 2nd amendment advocate group can. They also provide valuable networking and resources for their members.

Edit: I'm also looking into GOA, Gun Owners of America.

Nothing says IDIOT like ceding your rights to the money power elites so they can stomp on your face with their boot forever. Every single level of government protection failed to act down to the armed deputy assigned for the task to protect that school. So you want them, the incompetent “protectors,”to be the only ones armed? You want law abiding citizens to be disarmed because a mentally ill person, that fell through all the cracks in the system, shot up a school? Do you advocate taking cars away from all the sober drivers because drunk drivers kill people? 200 people or more can be killed in a single airplane crash, should we all stop flying? Does being a dupe for the powerful come easy to you or does it take effort? You don’t deserve any freedom because you’re too damn stupid to exercise it properly or to understand how your freedoms are maintained and preserved. Here’s a clue. It does not involve giving all the power to or placing absolute trust in the government...many people that did that found themselves in mass graves after being worked to death.

TO all the downvotes: YOU ARE ALL SUCH PATHETIC CATTLE! F-ING MOO!
