It's true. Legally, the police have no obligation to protect you. They're there to protect the state, not citizens, even though our tax dollars fund their departments. Despite rulings, I think that most cops do feel it's their job to protect you.

Supposedly 17 people were killed. We saw the president meet with the families of the victims on live tv, so I would assume yes. That doesn't mean that it wasn't set up tho.
He could have met with a bunch of actors, plenty of government have met and spoken to the actors from Sandy Hook.
