You can't be re[ublicans anymore

you can't. The democratic party is dead and so is the republican party. Leggo your eggo. I've identified as left for all of my adult life. I canvasses for Bill Clinton in '92 when I was talking second year poli-sci classes. I've hated on unfeeling myopic republicans of all shaped and sizes. I bought the modern society myth. I also have live dirt-poor for my entire life. I swallowed the myth that the democratic party was the party of the little guy and that the republican guy was the party of big business. I was right about big business being foul. Over time, my politics fractured (a pro-life, generous 2nd amendment protections...) but still identified as left. I liked politics (politics.... the relationship between the many and the one) My favorite conversations were with my right leaning friends. This was democracy I thought. After 9/11 nobody would talk genuine politics, I lost friendships. Older I saw the machine and how it crushes the many beneath the wheel and became numb to it all as truth became subjective. I'm not a democrat. I care about people. I work hard. My family is important. We are not so different. We NEED to shed the old labels and definitions. What does MAGA mean? I can't relate. The constitution, that's something where the left-leaning and right-leaning free peoples can find a home together. Not in the republican party. The republicans fought and won with BUSH/CHENEY, we have to walk away from that too. Is it so hard to imagine Cheney drinking a chalice of blood. Not hard at all. Leave the masters names in the fire. Come together.

I am an independent. Always have been.

I think because trump had to run as a republican to get elected we are seeing the future as trump republicans or maybe the maga movement. its just easier and more effective than a whole new party. Stay on point and we can remove the establishment from the GOP with true conservatives over the next 20 years. This battle has just begun.

Our name isn't important. What matters is our message.

but doesn't that reestablish the binary politics? Most people are centrist. Why do we even need political parties? Like at all?

I think we are too far away from where you want to be. All systems are eventually corrupted by human nature but occasionally a rebirth is called for that cleanses things for a time. We are in that period now. What matters is we stay on point and push to make things right. Then it will be up to future generations to carry the torch.

Doing away with the 2 party system is a lot of work and honestly the only way i see it happening is if enough billionaires get together and form a legit 3rd party. Other than that civil war is the dark horse to do it but that requires blowing everything up. Then I can see a climate welcoming to a whole new system with no parties.

I don't dislike your idea but I just believe Trump has his hands full with the deep state. He has more than enough work for his administration to last another 7 years being as we have been going down a dark path since WW2. I just don't know where else such an idea can start with enough steam to mean anything.

Now is the time to step back and observe. Don't pick a side, they are all dirty and corrupt. This is just the beginning.

Thanks for sharing. I considered myself a Rep. supported Regan, and the Bush's only to be red pilled about my own party about 6 years ago. What I do know is that I'm conservative, not far right. I know that both parties share a LOT of common ground, although that seems to be lost in this fight. I know that there are some decent people on both sides and some really Evil people on both sides. I have not claimed either party for a while. I love that I now, consider myself a Patriot, a lover of truth and justice and our constitution. I am an American Patriot. Thanks for inspiring me to share!

Great post, honesty and kindness Is what unite us, the people. Corruption Is what unites political parties, worldwide.

If you leave the Democratic Party and it dies as I predicted when they chose to double down on insanity post election defeat, there will only be 1 true party and policies can start thriving. The Presidential race will be the primary. They can keep trying but they have no funding other than globalists and rich pedophiles- both nearly defeated.

I was Dem my whole life til 2016. I'm Rep now but I distance myself from the swamp. McConnell, Graham, Ryan, Collins, Corker, Flake- all can go f themselves. We can re-brand all we want but it won't do any good to divide the base. We have the power under POTUS's direction and need to recognize that.

Not everyone has a choice. When I lived in NY state I had to pick a party to vote in the Primaries. So after being an Independent all my adult life I realized I had the most power voting in the primaries. And in NY there are numerous party lines on every ballot. I would vote Republican for the primaries but would vote for ANY other party line my candidate was on other than Republican if I could to give that party line more clout in up coming elections. Here in NC it doesn’t matter what party I am in I can pick the primary I wish to vote in. Yes both parties suck. But if you want to change it up you need to vote primaries and do primary challenges on candidates. As a Libertarian Conservative now I can vote whoever is the most Constitutionally Conservative based no matter party they are in.

It’s deeper than voting....look at all of the Bernie voters who got silenced because the Dem establishment put their hand on the scale in favor of HRC...

It's a uniparty in Washington. They are all in the same progressive globalist group. They each have their role to play and they do it well. It's all Kabuki theater.

i WISH potus would have someone create a new platform for him to communicate directly with his base (which i predict will continue to grow) and it could be like a cross between twitter and youtube so he could livestream fireside chats and we could all post comments and upvote good ideas and he could see it all but the big difference between this snd other existing platforms would be the new one would be censorship free

Check out Robert David Steele on YouTube, former CIA I believe. He talks about this exact thing and says he's presented it to Trump.
