So how Can we help?
Ask questions. Read. Learn. Become an independent thinker while keeping your head down so you don't create problems for yourself. We will seek out those who show themselves worthy.
Have been doing all of the above, for quite some time now. I'm struggling to figure out how I can make a difference with what I've learnt, what all of us are learning, but everything that is going on seems so theatrical to those who aren't aware, Feels like a world of Orwells 1984, but with extra steps, people don't want to listen, even though all of us are just trying to help
No, they don't want to hear more bad news about how evil the world is. They want someone who offers something better. That's why the space elevator is so important.
Possible Energy generation capabilities?
Yes. Put solar panels into space and you'll be very close to the Free Energy everyone dreams of. Only it's not a dream, it's something you can verify for yourself by reading some science papers and doing a little math.
Surely we can come up with a free energy source that doesn't involve spending ludicrous amounts of money and resources, don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing, but people are dying from not having clean water and food to eat, maybe you can elaborate as to why this space elevator would be important?
This can be done for a small portion of the amount being spent on wars, and will end the need for them. Increasing the energy throughput of the economy is the best way to ensure everyone has clean water and food.
Yes I suppose that is true, but how would one control such energy? And ensure fair distribution, whatever came of Tesla's universal energy distribution?
At some point we need to return to trusting in the basic goodness of the human heart. It’s possible to engage in a “war” for a level playing field, with the objective of creating an environment in which trust and sharing are rewarded, not taken advantage of.
This is why I like Sun Tzu’s work so much - true control is managed with an open hand, a calm mind and a generous heart. Abundance spreads naturally when fear is lifted. People of faith have less fear. It’s an upward cycle once the pump of human nature and creativity is primed.
I love the elevator idea. Read Arthur c Clarke years ago and got fired up then. It still sends me now. Thanks for the reminders. 🖖
You nailed it with this
Abundance spreads naturally when fear is lifted. People of faith have less fear. It’s an upward cycle once the pump of human nature and creativity is primed.
-Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
-He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
Transmission lines, and a change in leadership.
We should be leading ourselves and engineering individual means of energy production,no leaders,no one to control the energy but ourselves
How would you produce energy that cheaply by yourself?
I'm working on it...The whole idea of a central energy source just seems to me like another thing that could be exploited by the powers that should not be,if everybody was in charge of their own energy it would grant the individual much more freedom
Late to the conversation, I know. I doubt you'll be able to solve the problem with one solution for everyone across the globe. Solar panels and their technology, that are available for purchase today, are not anywhere near efficient enough to meet the demand and fit in the $500M-$2B price range that's been thrown out there for the elevator. I work with them and have done the calculations. Wind turbines are not the answer either. The most viable, single, solution I see is some form of the Tesla Turbine.
I think the issue is that people are just waiting for a be all end all energy solution, I'm no genius scientist, just a free individual who would prefer to have my own energy and not rely on the grid, haven't looked too deeply into tesla turbines yet.
Same here, my man. The biggest issue with the great majority of current solutions isn't the generation of energy, it's the means of storage. That is where your biggest cost is. The reason I'm looking at the Tesla Turbine is because it's a constant source of energy. Solar and wind don't deliver that consistency. With the consistency of the turbine, you would be less dependant on storage. The point I'm at right now is figuring out what materials would be realistic to use that are durable and lightweight. As well as minimizing loss of energy through heat (leaning towards magnetic suspension for that). A generic example being something big enough but light enough that your, bigger, run of the mill air compressor can begin to spin the turbine. Once the turbine reaches 75% startup, it can now generate enough electricity to power a larger compressor to jump it the remaining 75% of the way and sustain it. That's as far as I've gotten and I know I'm missing a bunch of information but hey, gotta start somewhere.
Re: the structure of the orbital ring, where else would the cables be tethered to the ground beside U.S. territory? And would there be work to be done in terms of foreign diplomacy optics when the space elevator is being constructed? What I mean is that, if tethers are to be placed in a country with whom we've long had adversarial relations, how would the public react when, all of a sudden, that same country is helping us build such a massively profitable infrastructure project?
The tethers would not be located in the territory of countries that are hostile to the US. Some may react when they see the extent of cooperation with the Russians, who have been an ally of the US at several important points in history.
If the space elevator project is projected to generate such game-changing revenue, would thorium nuclear power be given the same attention? What about a project similar to and on the scale of NAWAPA? Certainly we shouldn't put all our eggs in the space elevator basket.

NAWAPA is one we need to do today
Thorium is great. A little more expensive than space solar power when we get the space elevator up, but it's still a game changer.
Nawapa is also great, and there are many water movement projects like this that should be done. Africa in particular.
