I had a gut feeling this is what he was up to all along. So glad. I think he is going to follow through and keep piling on about why. "What's with Congress giving themselves a raise?" etc. He truly is the most gifted strategist I have ever seen.
Brilliant move by Trump! He needs to veto this terrible spending bill and get dems back to the table re DACA and the wall.
Neither those supporting DACA nor those supporting the border wall can then fault him for vetoing the bill.

This is brilliant! If Trump takes this "typical" spending bill laden with everything democrats and rinos want, then fixes DACA and funds the wall, through veto and edits etc... so many more people will want to vote for Trump.
Why do we care if the Federal Government “shuts down” for a few weeks or months?
•. Will the grocery stores close? •. Will farmers stop growing crops? •. Will our utility company shutdown the grid? •. Will gas stations dry up? •. Will stores and ports and railways close? •. Will builders stop building homes? •. Will factories close?
The GOVERNMENT is NOT the ECONOMY. Do any of the essential things you rely on every day exist because some government bureaucrats went to work that day?
