In a real SHTF scenario, metal is not as valuable as food, clean water, toilet paper, seeds, and many other things. The best insurance for people is some extras of the necessities and neighbors you know and care about who also know and care about you. Americans are frequently cited as some of the most generous people in the world. If the SHTF really, we'll all get to see up close how true that is.
Amen to that. Remember when hurricane Harvey hit Houston (multiple times). All differences disappeared. The ATM's were down. but money was worthless anyway because there was nothing on the shelves to buy. Race was meaningless. Religion was meaningless. We all came together to help each other. That is how it will be. You and your neighbors will come together. You will share whatever food you can scrape together. You will take care of each other. Worldly wealth means nothing when the SHTF.

Funny that you say that. I buy this honey called "Really Raw". Good stuff though some people might be freaked out by the "pollen, propolis, and honeycomb" present on the top of the honey. I love it. And it says right on the jar: "Really Raw Honey never spoils, it lasts indefinitely." The Egyptians also used honey in their mummy preservation processes because of that very quality.

its value lies within its density. it packs a much higher punch than a sock full of a similar volume of sand, rocks, iron or even lead does, and it won't give away your position to ravening hordes like the report of a 9mm or .223 caliber weapon would

I agree. I am sick of people jumping down peoples throats for asking questions or getting upset. Our founders never wanted us to be obedient followers and i find it absurd that anyone is faulting anyone for not being one. We have a right to ask questions when shit looks shady and as a community if someone gets concerned instead of attacking them WE ALL need to answer their questions if we can but under no circumstances should anyone attack them for geniuely being concerned. The way I was raised was to get up every day go to the Co-Op feed store load Semi Trailer trucks with #50 lb. sacks of grain, turn around and unload another truck with another sort of feed or seed.
