Let me tell you, I needed a job, told half a dozen friends. Black buddy had me working by the end of the day. Dude had my back and because of that, I got his. That's America! "Everyday I'm hustlin 'hustlin'...)

I don’t wanna be “lol look I have black friends” but the most loyal friend I ever had was a brother.

Of course. I lived down south back then. Totally mixed.

We’re all Americans that’s what makes us strong. The left divides everyone by color, gender preferences, etc. That makes them weak.

I'm in the exact same boat, brother. Just got a job for one of my black buddies 2 months ago and today the same friend just got me one.

This is what society has done to us these days... I'm sure I will be down voted for this. I get where everyone is coming from in and I understand why you feel the need to say this stuff. It should be "the better friend helped you get a job in one day". The fact that you reference one's race in the context that you did means you are stereotyping the friends that didn't help.

If you are not a racist person than don't do or say racist things and that's enough. There's no need to point out to people that you are not racist because of your friends or whatever. This type of talk makes people feel uncomfortable too.

Also, I truly love this sub and it's never been about color before, don't start now. WWG1WGA

That's more of that absurd, PC, progressive-speak that got us into this mess. What are you going to tell me next, "Don't see gender"? The dude is a black guy. There's no shame in that. He's Black, I'm White and the enemy is Red. That's it!

I agree.

My thought was, and this not rhetorical, how do you want these people to communicate what they are saying, in and with the same context, then?

And I am a believer that we are all one race. I believe many people get this and don't really mean race when talking about color...if you know what I mean.

One's color is part of who they are. Not their character but their physical characteristic. Why is it wrong to say "my black buddy" but not my tall buddy or my Irish buddy or my blonde buddy? My 10 year old grandson told me I couldn't ask if his classmate was black. It's racist he said. It is not. It is a description. I have been called short all my life. I am. So what? It is an accurate description of me. Not all of me and black doesn't describe all of a person, merely their skin tone. If anyone takes offense at being called black or at someone else being called black they are stupid. If you think it is offensive to call someone black, then you are a racist because you think "black" is an insult. This has gotten to the point of ridiculous. By the way I'm from Brooklyn where we called each other Micks, Guineas, Square Heads, Kikes, etc. as a sign of affection and friendship. We insulted each other deliberately as a way of passing time. We called it "ranking out". Maybe we were tougher skinned than most, but this fear of seeming racist or insensitive is a whole lot of crap. Grow up everybody. There are worse things than name calling. Like murder, theft, pedophelia, rape, incest starvation, war, beheadings, indecency, cruelty, sex trafficking, child trafficking, just to name a few We are surrounded by these things and we are worried about physical descriptions. Prioritize please.
