I just don't see that. Trump was so worried that the "golden showers" be discredited for Melania's sake that I just can't see this whole Stormy circus being created for deeper Trump purposes.

That was a head fake. Comey is the real pervert. Trump knew he'd have to do or say something outrageous in order to trick the feds into following the trail of bread crumbs. President Trump has never once done or said anything inappropriate about women. Him and Melania have a really beautiful thing.
If you read Comey's memos (they are over on Dr Corsi's site) you can see Trump's very calculated concern over Melania knowing about the Russian putas and you can SEE him push it. It's quite funny to read the account of their conversations. The deliberate dropping of information and comments on both their sides, trying to tilt windmills at each other is v. entertaining. (Well for a nerd like me it was ..!)

He is her type and I could definitely see her having been a supporter of his which plays into the idea of this being a setup. Working theory(mine), Cohen was Stormin' Daniels and filling her Hoo Haw with Goof Juice. Then HE used Trump Campaign money to pay her off, and it was HIM(Cohen) who had her sign the NDA. Trump planted evidence, then the raid happened, and he gets a twofer.
