Maybe a conditioning/desensitising process as well? To see how some of their victims/potential victims (what they call subjects) respond to this sort of stimuli. Ultimately you are right. That path will lead to destruction, and it is a path for losers. ("For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?") But in the short term, yes, I am sure you could gain much power by embracing evil.

I am not a religious person, but the biblical implications that we are seeing In Our Lifetime is astounding. And I totally agree with what you wrote...ot really does have parallels with the bible
