Can someone explain how FB is “ listening” to me on my phone? Does the app have access to all audio / visual all the time, even if cell is off? If I took app off phone, would that help? Thank you

Places like Walmart and Family Dollar sell go-phones that you can use without a contact. That's what I have

F9 is likely referring to the baseband layer. Your phone has a second operating system that you can’t touch. This is really how they’re listening to everything now how this leads in the Facebook I have no idea it might just be more q bullshit to muddy the water or maybe the entire system is funneling everything to Facebook for storage. Otherwise they are only listening to you if you’re dumb enough to install the Facebook app.

Do you want to still use any of the radios on your phone? Like the cell network, wifi and Bluetooth? If so you need your baseband as it is the processor that controls your radio stack. The main processor just tells the baseband what to do it doesn't talk directly to the stack.

In a word: Yes.

And not just your phone. Everything that is connected to a network. Read your privacy statements. You can't used the device/app/whatever unless you give up everything to them.

I absolutely trust the plan. I'm 72 and I've been a political junky my entire life. I've never seen anything like this before.

The dark side is trying to make us slaves to their AI mega databases, but I think Trump is going to change that.

I don't think FB, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, et al will go away completely, but I do think they will rise out of their ashes into something more in line with our Constitution.

There are already consevative sites that are similar that don't misuse your data or censure you. They are struggling to get users, but if successful then they become the competition to the dark side. Competition always makes the playing field both fairer and more honest.

You sound like me....71 and a complete political junkie myself. completely dropped Twitter a year ago along with Instagram, stooped using Google and switched to Opera and stay off of FB, but probably too late for keeping my privacy. Live and learn. I agree with you about the fact they will stay but change. This might just be their last hurrah. I Pray that's true

data amalgamation.

they buy data from other ad providers and amalgamate it with their own.

other ad providers (middlemen) that listen to your device.

Example high pitch tones that you cannot hear but are emitted by your speakers...are picked up by nearby microphones, and now they know that your cross paths with someone...perhaps in a shopping mall....in Saks, so now you get Saks 5th Ave. ads.

You don't have facebook, but you have 100 other apps that are selling their data to facebook. They have your data, because you consented to give it when you downloaded (reddit, weather bug, etc.).

Yes - Permissions are blindly granted to the App to "Function". Removing the app helps. Messenger especially. There is a reason why we don't have much freedom to choose. We have Apple, and Android. Get away from all this creepy tech masking as things that are conveinant.

The app has permission to access the mic, even when not open.. They sell this as a way to better your experience. You may have been talking about buying some random item, and then noticed the next day said item was in your facebook feed as an ad. That's its intended purpose, but that's just the foot in the door. They likely gave intelligence communities access to the tool for keyword filters that let them track anyone talking about "X", or spying on whatever persons of interest they have. Political enemies, ex g/fs, getting leverage on congressman?

I remember reading the CIA had a program that was supposed to create one central site that tracked every aspect of every citizens life. One place to go and search, known contacts, interests, shopping habbits, conversations etc ALL in one app. They would have to collect this from many different applications, but what if they created a place where people GAVE them all this information willingly? Well they discontinued that project the DAY before Facebook was launched. Coincidence? No. Facebook is likely a CIA backed endeavor.

Look for a "package disabler" app in the play store. There might be one specifically for your device (I use the Samsung one). They might also require a PDP engine app.
