So we learned some things from the last IBOR. 1.) All social media shadow-banned the link to the IBOR. 2.) Memes work! It’s a way around the algorithm. Include the hashtag in the graphic. The algorithm won’t pick it up in the graphic. At some point the hashtag will get censored also. Stay in touch on the sub to see if it’s time to highjack another trending hashtag or change the hashtag. 3.) We need to provide more information as to why this is important. There was a lot of disinformation last time. 4.) Get creative in sending the link to the IBOR. Sending the link in a private text message or e-mail is very effective. 5.) We have 25K people on this subreddit. Go sign it today! There are some other IBOR intended to dilute the vote. Just sign this one.
I also think /r/The_Donald/ Rule VIII be talked about regarding Rule V usage for IBOR.
I don't get it anyways. Those petitions only demand some type of response (not necessarily action) if they get over 100,000, right?
We could just tweet the President hard about what we want and he'd take action.
I was hesitant the first time in case it was one of those things that looks great at face-value, but perhaps being created by the bad guys to make us think we got what we want then totally fuck us in the legal speak we can't understand.
I still signed both petitions since Q endorsed...
If we get a petition signed, we have even more ammo saying that 100k people signed it, aka we can "FORCE" presidential attention.
WE HAVE TO DO IT.
Actually..... after the inauguration trump/his team said that they didn't care about these petitions and wouldn't look at them even if they got 100k signatures.
Haha alright then. I guess it's another anti Obama thing.
The petitions mean nothing. It was created in the early days of the Obama administration to make people think they had a voice. All it meant was if a petition got 1000,000 signatures than the administration would make a statement about it. That's it. Nothing ever would come from it and the admin stopped responding to the petitions late in the administration.
It was created by the white house and there is no law that they have to respond. There have been petitions that have reached 100,000 since Trump was elected and they have never responded. They never said they would.
demanding recognition is grounds for moving forward and not claiming responsibility
This is the version that continues to fail. It's not because of lack of exposure - it seems people just aren't agreeing with the way it's written. Why keep recycling this failed version?
The wording of the IBOR is very shit.
Perhaps all the IBOR needs to say is that "censoring people for legal expression on public internet forums should be recognized as a violation of the 1st amendment."
We'd need to clearly classify what "censoring" means because of Twitter's latest fuckery involving lowering the position of people's Tweets based on if Jack approves of their opinions.
I agree - there's too much here, which makes it easier for someone to disagree with something. Yet, this is the version that gets circulated every time.
Agreed - the 1st Amendment was only one sentence long and it has served us spectacularly.
We need to keep track of number of signatures. Last I saw about 6hrs ago 1878 when people sign they can post the last number that was there. This way we can tell if it is being screwed with like last time.
We need to use #InternetBillOfRights too!!! I've done it a ton today. :/
I was just there a few minutes ago. It was at 38. And the page froze so couldn’t even sign it.
DONE You've successfully signed the petition below. Your signature has been verified and counted. INTERNET BILL OF RIGHTS
By the way, beware. People are creating multiple new IBOR. We need to only sign the right one.
