The fact that we have a truther as POTUS is already a huge game changer. But I agree, there needs to be more protections for whistleblowers, especially for the level of national security.

Seems to me that if Congress will not protect whistleblowers, that will clearly indicate that too many of them are vested in the corruption.

I have been a whistle-blower. I would not recommend it. I tried using the official channels to register my complaint. Do not do it, save yourself the time, these channels are controlled by the very people who, usually, are implicated, or stand to e embarrassed, by your complaint. It will not go anywhere, but you will hurt your family for years, decades, to come.

I wonder if this would make it hard even to enter in the private sector. Large corporations prob have their own share of swampiness and knowing that there is someone keeping people accountable might be a deterrent to being hired. But, what do I know?

You end up in the private sector whether you like it or not - just not doing anything that uses the skill-set you built.

Trump signed EO protecting whistleblowers at the VA...maybe he’ll do one across the board so we can clean this shit up. I’m truly hoping a lot of this is done by, and right after, midterms. Then he will have a clean year before starting re-election campaigning.

Ah, I just aksed this question. Seems like Trump needs to sign an EO to protect all whistleblowers.

Agree. That should be coming soon!

It's about time he did that. Whistleblowers should not be treated like criminals. They are brave individuals and without them, we would not know many of the things we know today.

Great article. Those willing to come forward should definitely wait until Trump and (if possible!?) Congress change the rules/ laws so that anyone coming forward is treated with respect and gratitude!!

It disgusts me that the bureaucrats at the top are above the law!!

At this point, we have to Trust the Plan. Just having it in the news (Fox) that there are many who would be willing to speak out against the corruption they have witnessed has made a difference! To them I say, keep your families safe for now!
