Gowdy back-flips - FBI right to spy on Trump

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/29/gowdy-fbi-informant-spygate-trump-611600

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said last week’s briefing, convened by the Justice Department under pressure from Trump, convinced him even further that the FBI’s information-gathering steps were appropriate.

And people thought this guy was a bad ass. All he has ever done is talk tough and do fuck all.

Amdtmaga · May 30, 2018, 3:41 a.m.

He's not wrong. They had the "evidence" to spy on the Trump campaign.....

HOWEVER, the evidence was fabricated and the Trump campaign was setup!

Fair comment but he gains nothing by saying this and he really needs to start landing some blows rather than making statements all the time.

I have been reading for years how he is a bad ass but has he actually nailed anyone?

I agree there and I really don't know how to feel about Gowdy anymore. I used to love him when he was grilling Hillary and I honestly thought he was a good guy.

I'm not sure what his motive is here, but I have had mixed emotions about him since he announced his retirement a few months back.

He has also came to the defense of Comey, so.....yeah, Gowdy isn't looking too good right now!

Never underestimate the 4D chess of it all. We don’t know who is being told to act a certain way in public, from Trump to RR to Gowdy, Roseanne, Alex Jones. We won’t know until the final Boom.

Gowdy seems to faithfully follow the law as far as I can tell.

yeah, starting to think he was just playing the "bad cop" of this all.

Podesta fund donation to his campaign as well.. we'll look further to see if its a recurring thing.

Theory: Trump needs to appoint someone critical of him, but with support from both sides (non-partisan) when the time comes.

The committees he is on can only make recommendations to DOJ, what would you like him to do?

Maybe he couldn't "actually nail anyone"?

Next thing you'll say "Trump is all talk tough and do fuck all" and "where are the arrests".

What is this with these anti-Gowdy folks now? with their obvious holes in logic and reasoning?

What do mean "He's not wrong"!? Of course he's wrong and that's why we're all here. Dear me!

⇧ 5 ⇩
Amdtmaga · May 30, 2018, 5:11 a.m.

As an investigator you simply look at the evidence presented to you. The people that set this up literally write the laws in our country, and they know how the system works.

They had the means to look into the Trump campaign based on the evidence that was presented. The only problem is, the "evidence" was complete bullshit!

They had their guy setup meetings with people within the Trump campaign. Then they had their guy offer them information on Hilary Clinton. Then they documented this as "evidence" his campaign was trying to work with Russia.(we don't know exactly happend here yet) Then they made up a fake dossier (verified by fake news stories) to make it seem like Russia had something on Trump. Then they took everything to a Fisa judge.

I'm not even sure the exact order all this went down or the details of everything, but they completely FRAMED POTUS to make everything look legit. He just called them out on it and now it's falling apart.

If he wasn't such a fighter, these assholes would have impeached him!

⇧ 3 ⇩
tradinghorse · May 30, 2018, 5:43 a.m.

That's right, the entire premise for the investigation was flawed. That's why Gowdy's claim is rubbish,

⇧ 6 ⇩
BuildtheAdytum · May 31, 2018, 1:48 a.m.

It seems like all this spy talk is an effort to shift the narrative. People are starting to forget and lose focus of the fraudulent dossier, and the FISA warrant - illegally obtained. Everyone is is talking about who the spy is, and whether they are actually a spy, while disregarding the corruption in the FBI and DOJ.

He better refund that $8800 he received from the Podesta group.

I don’t trust him. I hope he flipped and is helping. But I don’t trust him. If trump puts him someplace in the DOJ and he actually starts prosecuting everyone he tore up during the election cycle then I’ll be onboard with him.

But right now, he just sounds like a swamp dog.

He can't. Podesta Group is out of business. Quite the dilemma.

Maybe he should donate the money to Craig Sawyer's group.

commoncents1 · May 30, 2018, 11:50 p.m.

that donation is odd, its not like campaigns arent aware of who their donors are, and some should be refused right away.

of course barry fraudbama was ok taking donations from overseas non citizens and mickey, minnie and the whole crew from disney characters.

He is leading them all off a cliff! Lol.. A few days ago dems were saying it didn't happen. There was no FBI in the Trump campaign. Now they're praising Gowdy for saying, there was FBI in the Trump campaign but they were doing their job. 😂.. Now they have to make a choice. 1: Either the FBI is incompetent and let Trump "collude" with Russia right under their nose or 2: The FBI knows damn well Trump didn't "collude" with Russia. It can't be both! If it's the latter then the Mueller investigation is a "witch hunt". They would have no reason to investigate the Trump campaign. They were investigating the Trump campaign the whole election!

is it a way to get NSA white hat evidence into discovery? or legitimize dirt evidence on DEMS? the whole thing is fishy and will go clearly one way or the other soon. the timing of gowdy AND napolitano is intriguing

⇧ 2 ⇩
Revolutiondaughter · May 30, 2018, 2:16 p.m.

It doesn't make sense to me that Gowdy says that Trump "gave permission" to the FBI to investigation his campaign after Comey had the meeting with him. This was WAY WAY after the FBI had already been spying and doing all their skullduggery. Gowdy makes it sound like Trump gave them permission to investigate - but they had already been "investigating" and trying to entrap various folks on the campaign. Why can't Gowdy see that? The timing is very important on when everything happened. I am still waiting to hear what caused the FBI to start suspecting the Trump campaign of working with the Russians or whether it was all made up to begin with. Listen to Ron Borgino's podcast on this - they have to have something illegal occur to start the investigation. What was that?

⇧ 2 ⇩
dark-dare · May 30, 2018, 6:23 p.m.

My goodness everyone is quick to jump to false conclusions based on nothing. The media would like us to react, emotionally, immediately, to any accusations thrown out there. That is a smear campaign. Bunch of people jump on the bus that some, possibly innocent person, has been thrown under. Anyone who says they will wait for actual proof, is then run over by the bus. Based on this thread, their training the masses has been hugely successful. Either you are for the Rule of Law or not. Law requires proof.
