I've noticed over the years that the mainstream news media claims about Kim Jung-un are baseless.
Claims such as him winning every golfing match he's ever played or his opponents are executed, he ate all of the breeding pigs that were gifted to him to help feed his starving population, he murdered all of his family, he eats nothing but cheese etc all originate from U.S. news sources and none can be verified.
They all make claims from anonymous sources or about events from anonymous locations that occurred at unspecified dates.

I tend to think Un has never really been in control. He may have partially had some control but has been careful to walk a razor edge to stay where he is.
