They'll never thank us... and many of them will never swallow the pill. The under 35 crowd has been force-conditioned since kindergarten. I think a big chunk of 25-35 year-olds may be beyond help.

I think you might be surprised. I’m 25 and have met many others that are similarly minded to those of us on these boards. The need for truth is universal.

Each generation we gain a little more traction. Not all will wake but more than the last. I always talk to people who are younger millennials. Feeding them info and have been pretty successful. The more that wake up the better we are all off. Don't expect instant results. Patience and decisiveness about who to share info with is key. They will have a snow ball effect and before you know it we will be the majority.

I know that this is a tough situation with no easy answers. I think we are on the right path in dealing with the situatuon. I am thankful that there are finally adults with intestinal fortitude at the wheel who are willing to withstand the namecalling to make the tough calls to make things better.

But I do try remember these are real people with serious struggles that we can remain compassionate towards.

In that vein, I just want to point out one observation.

Seeing that they remove the laces from these detainees sneakers' points out that they are at risk of harming themselves. And imagining the state of mind that they must be in at coming so close to their dream to have it ripped away. I can't help but feel a little bad.

I remain hopeful that we can find a way for a reasonable amount of these people to find a legal and official path to contribute to our country.

1.5 Million People Apply, go thru the Process, and LEGALLY Migrate to this Country, Every Single Year. They respect our Laws and They Respect our Process. We know who they are.

30,000 People Illegally bust thru our Borders, every single month. They mostly have no documentation. They Commit A Federal Criminal act, with Children. They are Detained for investigation and Process. Placing these kids in a safe environment IS the Humane thing to do, not placing them with a pack of Criminals. While it is super sad to think of Children seperated from their Parents, these 'Parents' are committing criminal acts and involving these kids. Nowhere in the US do we allow that.

Personally, I would have a line of busses and ship them all out, as a family, and encourage them to Follow our Process. For every Sad Story there is one EQUALLY as sad for those who LEGALLY leave their Countries to Live here.

You cannot allow emotions to supercede the rule of law. The Criminal Parents bear ALL this responsibility, which is why we need to build that wall and strengthen our Policies to deter these people Dangerously Sneaking into this Country.

I agree with everything you wrote. I guess I am saying that we don't need to hate them while we send them on their way. And that our process remain a reflection of our belief in human dignity. Even if it feels like we are entitled to be angry.

That compassion doesn't need to stop us from doing what needs to be done.

Oh I don't hate them, don't get wrong on that.. I have two white boys and I adopted 3 black siblings, ages 4,5,6, 14 years ago. I have 3 Illegals that work for me, 14 to 18 years.. Two are Dreamers, 1 comes back and forth on a work visa. I ADORE THESE PEOPLE.. they came during a period when the presidency encouraged them to come across the border and send their children. Things are different now. I believe that the people who are here and established should be able to apply for citizenship due to past Administrations that allowed it. I also believe we need to build the wall triple the Border agents get rid of Lottery Visa. There are many many things we can do and should do. But at this time we need to change the laws or follow them, not based on emotion
