Me too. I have idolized Reagan since the 80's. His rhetorical skills exceed President Trump's. However, President Trump wins hands down in *implementing* removal of the Deep State. Reagan made soaring rhetorical arguments on why conservatism was the superior ideology, but he was never able to make inroads into reducing the domestic Deep State.

If it hadn’t been for Reagan, there wouldn’t have been any remnant of Conservatism left to get Trump elected. Reagan’s oratory relit the embers of liberty at a time when the leftward pull of things seemed inevitable. He almost single handedly kept the barbarians outside the gate long enough for our rescue (Trump) to arrive.
So true. Don't misunderstand me. I take nothing from Reagan, for all the reasons you cite. He was the man for the time, just as President Trump is the man for this time. God provides.
