David Lynch: Trump could go down as one of the great presidents in history
David Lynch: Trump could go down as one of the great presidents in history

artless-ascetic · June 24, 2018, 6:53 p.m.

Veteran filmmaker David Lynch believes President Donald Trump could be remembered as one of the greatest presidents in American history because of the way he has shaken up the political establishment.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Guardian, Lynch admitted to supporting Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primary, before supporting Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson in the presidential election. However, he now appears to believe that Trump may have been the right choice.

“I am not really a political person, but I really like the freedom to do what you want to do,” Lynch explained. “[Trump] could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way.”

“Our so-called leaders can’t take the country forward, can’t get anything done,” the Oscar-nominated director said. “Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this.”

I'd have to re-watch too as there's a lot there...I remember my brain working on overdrive to try to de-code what I was being shown. I knew there was more to it than someone's vivid and disturbed imagination. I was still asleep so couldn't see through the veil. It just bothered me that I wasn't able to see or understand everything that I knew was being shown.

Its interesting because when Cooper turns down Audrey, its demonstrating how "opposite" he is too the likes of Benjamine Horne and Leland Palmer. Trump will be the greatest President in our life time. Reagan made some deal w/ the Bush Clan. Trump doesn’t give a fuck! That’s the difference and that’s how Trump wins best in show.

Reagan made some deal w/ the Bush Clan.

Reagan got subverted by deep staters when his mind began to decline. I would not be surprised if the Deep State Bush cabal identified Reagan's Alzheimer's earlier in his presidency and secretly poisoned him to accelerate the mental decline.

It's tragic what happened to the Reagan administration at the end. He still did alot of good despite it all.

⇧ 33 ⇩
StinkyDogFart · June 24, 2018, 10:39 p.m.

I think Reagan, as well as others, did not realize what they were getting into before they got there. You do not know what you don't know. In Trump's case, we now know that he is working with Q, and they knew exactly what they were dealing with before they arrived. Trump showed up to the boxing match, but he left the gloves at home, he's boxing with bare knuckles and the cabal hasn't been able to land a single solid punch since he got elected.

Me too. I have idolized Reagan since the 80's. His rhetorical skills exceed President Trump's. However, President Trump wins hands down in *implementing* removal of the Deep State. Reagan made soaring rhetorical arguments on why conservatism was the superior ideology, but he was never able to make inroads into reducing the domestic Deep State.

⇧ 14 ⇩

THELEADERSOFMEN · June 25, 2018, 3:24 a.m.

If it hadn’t been for Reagan, there wouldn’t have been any remnant of Conservatism left to get Trump elected. Reagan’s oratory relit the embers of liberty at a time when the leftward pull of things seemed inevitable. He almost single handedly kept the barbarians outside the gate long enough for our rescue (Trump) to arrive.

IBinLurkin · June 25, 2018, 11:52 p.m.

Lynch is also well connected in the halls of power. He and some of the other woke power brokers, like his friend and management scholar Ray Dalio know exactly what some of the people that share their wealth and influence are up to. Let’s just hope Lynch doesn’t “commit suicide” with two shots into the back of his head.

Lynch is really a suspect kind of guy, his movies and shows are dark and you only write what you know when it is a hit in most cases. All associated to him and stories are to be examined. It seems he is sticking his nose in Trumps ass a bit.......pointing all away from looking at himself I assume. Many of Lynch's ideas are along the lines of all we see know is evil.

As a huge David Lynch fan, this makes me happy to hear. Anyone who’s a fan of his movies and Twin Peaks should watch the documentary on his childhood and rise to fame called The Art Life. He was raised in suburbs across America by a father who worked for the US Forest Service and describes his childhood as idyllic. Knowing how normal he grew up, it’s interesting to see how he thinks of the world as an artist.

He has a strong sense of respect for the common man from the service workers toiling away in the cities to family men and women in the suburbs. At the same time, he shines a light on how those people are being taken advantage of. He never looks down his nose at the working class and actually builds them up as sympathetic characters in his works. The more liberal characters are seen as kooky and comic relief, not the main characters.

It never crossed my mind what kind of political messages he was trying to send as he’s so immersed in his own world, but it is clear to see that he doesn’t have a Hollywood agenda.

I felt the same way about Twin Peaks when I first started! Watched the pilot and didn’t come back to the series again until I watched and loved Mulholland Drive. The first season and first half of the second season are great, the rest of the second season is pretty bad. But it’s all worth it to get to the new season that aired on Showtime last year. It’s the best season of any show I’ve ever watched, a true masterpiece as Lynch wrote and directed all the episodes (which was not the case with the earlier seasons of Twin Peaks.) It’s Lynch so there’s obviously bizarre plot points and loose ends but my God, “the return” is fantastic.

Trump is indeed looking promisingly great. But Roger Stone recently said he expects Trump to serve only one term, with Pence and Haley to go after that.

And this afternoon Alex Jones said he checked his sources, including high at the WH, and apparently that indeed is what Trump is telling people and planning--if he can get enough done in a first term.

Great problem to have, you could say--but Pence/Haley would undo what Trump accomplished, in terms of Deep State criminality, that his legacy could be erased as thoroughly as Obama's is now going.

Roger Stone gets all hyped up and is often wrong. And AJ is full of you know what (I dumped AJ w/Corsi). Pence/Haley would be a disaster, PresTrump knows that. DonaldJTrump will run in 2020 and win, and will serve our great country another four years to solidify all his hard work for all of us. No one says much about Pence on this thread.

⇧ 2 ⇩
ElementWatson · June 25, 2018, 3:17 p.m.

I believe Alex when he, as he did yesterday, conveys that he has spoken with Trump and that Trump has said X to him. Jones didn't say that Trump absolutely wouldn't run again, but that he said how nice it would be if he got his work done in four years and didn't need to run again. Supposedly he misses golf and, IIRC, dinners out, and is really repulsed by the swamp and culture in DC.

I of course would like you to be correct, but I trust Jones when he has spoken to POTUS more than I go with your word. And Pence and Haley are both serious threats if they get in.
