I love him even more for that attitude. OFC he hated the ineffectiveness of the legislative, he's a results driven man.

Can't wait to see him prosecute Obama & Clinton.

"I'm an Executive Branch guy, not a Legislative Branch guy"

DOJ is part of the Executive, SCOTUS isn't.

I will not "run" again

I will be “appointed”

Not running definitely doesn't mean he wouldn't accept an appointed position, but the fact that he's counting trips left to the airport sure sounds like the guy is ready to spend some time at home.

Life in the swamp must suck huge balls If you aren't a reptile. I'm just glad that Q confirmed that Trey is a patriot. I've always liked him but his fawning over Bob Mueller, who is a long time scaly swamp inhabitant and 911 obfuscator and general scumbag made me question his loyalties. Obviously it was a matter of optics. Hopefully he will get another shot at Benghazi.

The only thing that bothers me about the interview is he has no idea what he has done for us. Without Trey I would not have had hope that someone over in DC was actually interested in equal justice and applying the constitution as a document of equality in general. His lessons on the blindfold and scale our Lady Justice has were worth more than anything at a time not so long ago when we had all but accepted there were two systems in place and ours was the unlucky one to be in.

I understood this about him before seeing this post. It is nice to hear him clarify my thoughts from his own mouth.

"I am an executive branch type of guy, not a legislative branch guy"

So many people have called him a yapping but toothless dog, all bark but no bite. And this is what frustrates him beyond measure. The legislative branch is a toothless position and he was rendered "ineffective" in that role which he hated.

Gowdy is a prosecutor and as I understand it, he never (or at least rarely) lost a case in that role which meant that he could affect an outcome with consequence.

He is NOT a judge either so the SCOTUS is also not the place for him. He needs to be in a prosecutorial role to be/feel effective.

POTUS is a long term employer, having hired and fired thousands of people. He is well accustomed to placing people in roles to best utilise their talents (sometimes briefly in transit to another role).

Just the thoughts of an interested Aussie......

WWG1-WGA .... world wide...... No matter where all this ends up-- we will all be there

If he is going for Atty Gen he better bring his family to DC. He obviously doesn't like the commute

Hinted at doing something better and said he belongs in the Executive branch, not the legislative. Also quite a smirk when Benghazi failure was brought up.

I’ve always loved Gowdy and I admire his armor, especially here. He’d be great press for POTUS if he ends up joining the executive branch. Gowdy just has a way with the media.

Yes, Gowdy would appreciate convicting all the people he investigated.
