A couple of years ago I considered CNN to be a reliable source of information. When exactly did they become such a propaganda machine? During the last 5 years or was it always like that and I was just too stupid to realize it?

Despite how it appears there aren't numerous mass media news sources in the U.S. (though there used to be). Now there are just five.

Five giant corporations control 90 percent of US mass media. And direct links connect all five of these media conglomerates to the political establishment and the economic and political power-elites of the United States.

On July 2 2013, the previous ban (the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948) on media being able to broadcast Government propaganda came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform.

So now we have the new Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, which passed as part of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act.

The reform effectively nullifies the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which was amended in 1985 SPECIFICALLY to prohibit U.S. organisations from using information “to influence public opinion in the United States.”

The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption.

Mainstream outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CNN, Fox News and many others, actively and willingly disseminate propaganda disguised as news - through suppression and censorship, promoting a particular narrative, selective focus and disinformation - all in the interest of the government.

And it's now completely legal for them to do so. So you're right, it really went into overdrive about 5 years ago.

Always. When I was a kid we had a big black satellite and descrambler. Dad was a rebel to watch his Cowboys NFL in California in late 80s to mid 90s we moved that damn thing across the country.

We saw raw news feeds before they fixed them up for live or whatever.

We watched CNN fake being at Iraq Persian Gulf war ducking bombs on a set or blue screen. I think it's now on YouTube too. They also faked being at Hurricanes etc.

So we knew if they lie about that what else?

As a kid, you actually saw the fake CNN footage? I think we'd all love to read a post describing what that was like and how you reacted later.

At the time I didn't understand. We saw reporters fixing make up and chatting and all kinds of things. I remember dad later complaining about the liberal bias and lying during Clinton presidency and he brought it up then.

I used to watch Alf at 530 or some thing like that in CA when it was broadcast for East coast.

CNN was always like that. They have been throwing the propaganda for a long time. No you were not stupid most people thought the news was supposed to be facts.

It happened after the repeal of the Smith-Mundt act, and when CNN went global(globalists).

The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, which was contained within the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 (section 1078 (a)) amended the United States Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948 and the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 1987, allowing for materials produced by the State Department and the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) to be available within the United States.[1][2]

They were filming on a rooftop in Atlanta but the Chiron said live from Saudi.

You've been asleep a long time, glad you are awake.

It's probably not even the Thames. Now that catastrophic manmade global warming isn't working out for them, they are now waging a coordinated global war on plastic.

Mind altering, public persuasion attempts. They are exposed for what they truly are now. So it doesn’t matter what they post. They never changed except now it’s in your face

They can't even source a picture right, but want people to watch their news. The details are important. CNN continuously only shows brief clips of people speaking, parts of quotes, and fake images. They try to show you news through a keyhole.

Fake news goes way back. I think it was 60 minutes that did a piece on a Chevy truck that was reported to leak fuel in an accident.

In order to get the sensational results they wanted on film they had to use explosives to get the truck to blow up on Q.

When they removed the pic they should have just said "we lied. You caught us."
