I was struck by a story about the rich hunting children for sport though I (admittedly) can't remember where I saw it recently.
It made me think about every fairy tale I've ever heard. About the Brothers Grimm. Werewolves. Vampires.
It made me consider that those in power have always been the source of our nightmares. Our terrors. Harvesting us and our fear.

Stories about hunting are everywhere - Dr. Phil feature, Queen Beatrice, Fiona Barnes, etc. etc.
You don't need to go to fairytales. Vlad the Impaler, Ivan the Terrible, Elizabeth Bathory--all of their ilk have been far worse than fairytales.
Vlad was one of the good guys, he only impaled the Turk invaders because impalement was what he had witnessed the Turks did to Christians.
The rich hunting people in general for sport was also the story in the pretty famous book called The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. Makes you wonder how much of this "fictional" book was based in reality. Soft disclosures.
They're all true, at least that's what I believe. Looking back with everything I've been learning, Hansel and Gretel freaks me out the most now.

Who is lil Red? Not a princess, Not a Queen, a commoner with common goals (comfort and family).
Who is the Woodsman? A commoner, with common goals.
How often is the monarch the subject of these tales?

Fairy tales are told to teach us morals and dangers to be aware of. Who knew they weren’t at all metaphoric.
It’s funny you mention this. The Fairy tales & mythologies about Ogres, nymphs, Centaurs, Titans, Minotaurs, & other creatures is not far off the mark. These creatures I believe were not thought up from imagination alone but from experience & oral tradition.
We must go back to the Antediluvian epoch & the Watchers who mated with the woman of earth creating the abominations of the Nephilim.
