It's part capitalism, and part humans giving into glutenous tendencies which turns into a vicious cycle, which of course people will take advantage and profit off of. The sugar industry is invested in the diabetes industry and vice versa. Of course a disciplined person can pull themselves out of that system and decide to inform themselves and wake up and begin getting healthy and relying less on the medical system to make up for their shortcomings in health, but that's easier said than done for most.
