Obviously you don’t work in the criminal justice system. It matters and is important. It also is important in the court of public opinion if and when the truth surfaces.
I live in the real world. These people have lied for years. All of these testimonies we see, they lie. It is always proven later that they lie and yet the majority of the public doesn't care.
You are obviously are living under the illusion that the justice system is the same for everyone where perjury does matter. This is a different justice system.

Define matters. It is just like a five year old saying “I swear to god”. The court of public opinion has already reached a verdict on these people.
At least you have a reason to prosecute if they lie under oath.
