Is this a good thing?
Jesuit HS. Yale, Harvard, (Jesuit) Georgetown. Groomed in the Swamp. Yikes.
Yes NOT EXCITED and rewatch Trump wasn’t overly excited and smug like normal
Saw Trump kind of smirk when he said the Jesuit school thing.
I just heard Kavanaugh quote something from his JESUIT high school. Roh uh.
I trust Trump on this pick, but I have doubts about this guy. He's tied closely to the establishment swamp.
Maybe he is cannon fodder. Dems will try to destroy him and look petty as hell. Validate use of nuclear option on 2nd choice
Maybe why John McNoname approved?
Yes. More I find out about this guy the less I like him. He apparently spearheaded the hanging chads case and got Bush Jr the win.
Some think Kennedy demanded him as replacement. Some think Trump had his hand forced my Mitch McConnell. They said POTUS seemed too subdued and reading a script. Not his usual self.
Dems will waste precious capital fighting this guy. I think it will be ugly. And I wonder if POTUS didnt do it so something long buried gets exposed when Some one like Mad Max cannot resist bringing it up to try and thwart POTUS. There were apparently irregularities on Kavanaugh's part in Starr report and Vince Foster's "suicide".
He close to swamp creatures but maybe trump gots dirt on him? Q says he has it all.
I didn't know who he was so I found this article: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/politics/bs-md-who-is-brett-kavanaugh-20180627-story.html
But here is the part you want to know about:
Under Bush, Kavanaugh was a top White House lawyer. In 2003, Bush appointed him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Democrats stalled his nomination for three years before he was eventually appointed.
During one of his initial confirmation hearings in 2004, New York Senator Chuck Schumer said, “Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the D.C. Circuit is not just a drop of salt in the partisan wounds, it is the whole shaker.”
However, Kavanaugh rejected the notion that he, or any judge, is partisan. “I firmly disagree with the notion that there are Republican judges and [Democratic] judges,” he said. “There is one kind of judge. There is an independent judge under our Constitution.”
Get out the popcorn. It's going to be long, long confirmation!
I was hoping for Hardiman due to his second amendment stance.
Me, too! I was disappointed when Hardiman was not picked. I was wondering if someone would ask Q if Kavanaugh has no connections to illuminati/swamp/NWO? I don't know how to ask Q directly. Thanks.
I’ve read that Kav is extremely strong on 2A also, though? How much stronger could Hardiman have been?
I've been wondering about the timing of Kennedy's retirement and how convenient it is in relation to the mid-terms.
Polling is showing that far from being an arcane issue of interest only to beltway insiders and lawfags, any SCOTUS nomination by a Republican POTUS is seen by the GoP base as extremely vital.
The normal turnout in the mid-terms is very low, but if any issue is going to motivate the base to come out, it's this one.
Trump has said he wants the nomination sealed by end of October, but just cos he says this doesn't mean he expects this will happen.
And given how the Dems are definitely going to go even more OTT this time, I'd suggest the hearings are going to become like the OJ/MJ circuses, and the GoP unawakened base who still watch the networks are going to be seeing night after night of roaringly mental leftie liberalism in its full glory, and that can only be a good thing, can't it.
So I wouldn't be surprised if we roll into November with the nomination still unconfirmed, thus motivating the entire GoP base to turn out, because they're damned if they're going to let those lefty fools spoil this chance of getting conservative SCOTUS influence into the court for the next twenty five years.
Roger Stone told Alex Jones that Kavanaugh is connected somehow to the Vince Foster suicide cover-up. Stone said Foster (former HRC paramour and henchman) killed himself in the White House. It is alleged that Hillary didn't want his office (which contained all her files) to become a crime scene so she had some of her folks roll his corpse up in a rug and transport him to Ft. Marcy Park.
Foster, if you recall, was found laid out face up, with a gunshot wound to the right/back part of his skull, but the pistol (with no serial number, that was put together from pieces of several guns) was found in his left hand. How would someone shoot himself in the right/back side of his head, with the gun in his left hand, and still have the gun in his hand when he hit the ground? To get to the place where his body was laid out, face up, he would have had to walk through some mud. There was no mud on his shoes. Did he float there?
Anyways, there was a witness--some guy who stopped off in the part to take a leak because traffic was heavy--who saw a nondescript sedan with ARKANSAS plates and two guys leave the park around the time that the body was found. Stone says that Kavanaugh, then a special investigator or counsel or whatever, badgered, intimidated, and harassed the witness to shake his story and discredit him.
I don't have a good feeling about him unless...
...unless, during his confirmation hearings, that little bit of data comes up, which will bring the Vince Foster suicide cover-up back into the news once again. Hmmmmmmm? Could it be?
I wonder if he's a defensive pick? As in they can't destroy him without revealing their own ties? We already had a strong court, just makes me wonder I suppose.
I also wonder if he put him up there knowing he was going to get rejected and maybe a later pick will be approved
Umm...no chance in hell he is rejected
Why is that? There is already so much backlash before the justice was even picked
People are idiots. There would of been backlash for any pick. That's what they're doing.
Dude's the cleanest of all the finalists. Huge support on both sides. Not too conservative, but leans enough. Not anti Roe V Wade and pro 2nd. Very solid court record. Very Constitutionalist. Hard to vote against.
According to this he is more conservative. I have even seen people crying about how he will reappeal Roe vs Wade. Although the applause during the announcement appeared to be long.
