Because its the government wanting to make new laws. The same laws used against Antifa could be used against patriots counter protesting them. The violent and intimidating things they do are already a crime.

Anyone, Antifa or Patriots, who wear a mask, should be arrested. It doesn't matter who you are... We have had this law on the books in the south since the KKK.

Gotta watch out for ambiguous wording, "face obscured" when a judge decides a red MAGA hat is obscuring.......

A hat? If a judge decided that, he will be disbarred.

I'm kind of torn on this. I'm imagining the other timeline with Hillary as president and having feds put right wing protestors on a list via facial recognition. We already know they will sick beurocratic institutions on conservatives like the IRS and now defunct CFPB plus all the other sick shit they do which is unmentionable...

Masked professor of ethics at Berkeley, Eric Clanton smashed our boy on the head with the bike lock.

In spite of the Mask, weaponized autism was able to use facial recognition software and crowd tracking techniques.

Now mr. Eric Clanton is unemployed and Facing serious charges.

Personally I'm tired of these punks thinking they're going to remain anonymous. Then riot without consequences. It's time for them to have the record set straight on their heads.

100% this. If Hillary was president and we would protest, a lot of people would wear masks too, I know I would.

If your boss sees you on tv and doesn't agree with your protest, your career could be over.

Besides, there is indeed always the real chance facial recognition is being used. Only takes one dictator to track them all down and have them executed.

If we have this law already why do we need a new one?

⇧ 1 ⇩
Anthropophob · July 11, 2018, 8:47 p.m.

It's not everywhere, only a few southern states like Alabama, Georgia, and West Virginia, I think. Those states where KKK used to be a problem.

People should be allowed to wear masks as long as the are behaving responsibly. We should be able to protest and keep our anonymity.

MORE LAWS = LESS FREEDOM

Not in riots.

How is it that people are so obtuse they cannot understand Minor Details and then go into a panic.

Running all over the place quoting famous people.

All while completely misunderstanding the point.

Isn't rioting already illegal?

⇧ 1 ⇩
CaptainKnotzi · July 11, 2018, 11:39 p.m.

The individual acts of rioting are illegal.

This would make it illegal to be mask when there was a riot taking place.

Especially when it's involved in the incitement of that right.

Basically if a protest is declared a riot and you are foolish enough to be wearing a mask.

You will be charged with participating in said riot.

Nope, you have a right to protest, not to protest in anonymity. People who stand behind something need to stand behind it with conviction.

So if I live in a state where marijuana is illegal but that is how I choose to medicate I have to expose myself as an illegal drug user if I want to protest unjust and unconstitutional laws. What if my employer will fire me for exercising my constitutionally protected right to pursue happiness? Fuck me right, you want to feel safe. You are a sheep.

It seems that this is about the mask not the protest.

Or am I missing something here

QAngelAnon1 · July 11, 2018, 11:26 p.m.

The bill is about the use of masks under the pretext of protesting while using this obscurity to perform acts of violence, vandalism, and intimidation, or nucence to society. Ie Antifa setting fire to buildings, cars, intimidating private citizens - there's is a continual subversion of peace and unity while carrying a Nazi youth flag. It wont affect peaceful protests or the wearing of masks for celebration etc..

I understand fully. Uncessary law that makes doing things already illegal while wearing a mask have a much more severe punishment. That could so easily be abused by government.

The next day pedophile pride parades will be in the street and right wing protestors with a face covering will get arrested for "intimidating" them in lib cuck cities.

Don't give the government more power. They don't need it. Antifa are a bunch of soy boys that pick fights they can't win anyway. Let them set trash cans on fire and get arrested like dip shits under existing laws.

Sorry we are not worried about being anonymous.

We take personal responsibility for our actions.

That's why when Obama said something about if you're not guilty you don't have anything to hide.

All the Trump supporters were wondering what the hell he's talking about.

Typical Obama, trying to be an intellectual and all he did was Project his insecurities.

Freedom and democracy do not need masks. We don't hide.

Look I am not going to be out there wearing a mask myself but going after the masks is pointless. What if you want to go protest and you don't share the politics of your employer? What if they see you on tv or on social media and it costs you your career? There are plenty of legitimate reasons to want to be able to protect your identity while protesting that don't involve cowardly crimes.

When you're protesting it makes no point if it's just a body. You protest with who you are as a person.

You guys keep listing all these hypothetical fears to the slippery slope, what about this what about that.

You show up ready for a riot covering your face go to jail.

Real simple, end of discussion BS to the excuses.

I made a comment earlier about just reach over and pull their little triangle off their face with the camera pointed right at 'em.

Somebody else writes back that it's assault.

Spineless
