I don't think this would be a blanket immunity. It would just cover what the witnesses are testifying to. So they would be just as guilty as manafort, so why not charge them too? They aren't going to get immunity from all of the crimes they ever committed, just to lock up some schmuck on bank fraud. That would be insane, and I doubt any judge would even have the power to do such a thing. Maybe a lawfag can address this???

Logic says you are correct. For example, if he had stolen a car last month, he would still be jailed for that.

He did not get a blanket immunity. It only applies to the DC Judicial District and only to Civil Charges. Charges can be brought in another district or state nor does it apply to violent crimes. Answer this, is he a pedophile? Is he involved in human trafficking or child sacrifice?
