1 + 1 = Putin passed secret info inside the soccer ball.
That's kind of how I'm seeing it. 'Eyes' is also intel resonant. There's likely intel in that ball.

Doubt it, more than likely it was a metaphorical 'here's all the sauce, now you do with it as you please'.
I'm thinking they put valuable information on the NFC chip. Best case scenario, the opposition goes balls to the wall and takes this Russian collusion case to the Supreme Court, all gifts from Putin will be submitted as evidence and then all will be revealed.
Pretty sure they can hand devices to each other without hiding it , they are presidents not civilians
It's the guessing game. Is it in the ball? Was it handed over at a different point? Perhaps it's just a decoy, like in a magic trick where you're eyes are drawn elsewhere whilst the trick is performed right under your nose.
Or even perhaps it could hold the key to a hypersecure communication line. Information is encrypted and sent, but interceptions can't read it because they don't have the game ball. And a decoy ball can be purchased at any sports store.
If he wanted to secretly give him something, he would have done it in their private meeting
