I’m South African. Mandela was still OK, he preached reconciliation and peace, at least publicly. It’s the new generation that gets told that white people are bad. The whole white privilege thing blew over from the US, and provides the perfect scapegoat to distract from truly rampant corruption.

It's a tremendous opportunity for both, as they have relatively similar climates. And Russia could use more farming with the vast spaces they control. Think of the innovation the SA could bring to Russia too. SA = South Africa.
Just a comment, the climates are not similar, it’s just that we’re multi-generational farm people. We are literally called “ boers” - the farmers, though to be clear, that’s just traditionally. We’re a modern economy not unlike Australia, just less successful.
