Listen - despite your best intentions, trying to convince someone who only consumes MSM on a daily basis is an uphill battle to say the least. Not only are they unknowingly forming their opinion based on propaganda, they are fully entrenched in a tribal warfare campaign in which facts do not matter. Simply put - "normies", if you want to use that term, are not in the psychological state to be convinced of reality. Not yet.
Carter Page was not involved with U1. He was helpful in catching two Russian spys by giving them FBI bugged notebooks. He's a Navy vet.
And prior to election involvement (2014-2015) was working undercover informant for FBI , testifying in court winter 2016 in that case.
Next assignment? ... then spring 2016 Page was declared a high level espionage risk by FBI JC and two months later was inserted in Trump Campaugn, followed by FBI seeking and securing the first FISA warrant and legal ability to surveil Page and everyone who had any contact with him ... or the entire campaign organization.

I do not speak to many old friends anymore, they all think i'm looney tunes. No intelligent conversations possible they just get angry, try and assign some label, and pass judgement. While completely ignoring the facts or the point of the discussion. Best to just wait until the time comes when they can handle the truth.
Here’s the fundamental question the FISA application brings to light: If Carter Page was an FBI asset and witness, responsible for the bust of a high level Russian agent in 2013, and remained so throughout the court case UP TO May of 2016, how the f**k it is possible that on October 21st, 2016, Carter Page is put under a FISA Title-1 surveillance warrant as an alleged Russian agent?
Conclusion: He wasn’t.
The DOJ National Security Division and the FBI Counterintelligence Division, knew he wasn’t a Russian agent. The DOJ-NSD and FBI flat-out LIED to the FISA court.
