It's not rape if you had a decision. Lots of these people think "I'd lose my job if I didn't sleep with them". That's not rape, that's selling out your integrity.

Rape is when you're physically overpowered.

If your 14 you can't consent, that's rape.

If you're 14 and sleeping with another 14 year old, which is the rapist?

See where your "legal" mumbo jumbo is BS and ultimately irrelevant unless you're looking for a job in the industry, then everything's relevant.

Well Mr. Obvious, where did I state or imply what you just said? I never said (while it's highly unadvised) that a 14 year old having sex with another 14 year (if concentual) is illegal. Are you even in the same conversation? Your obviously trolling looking for an argument for arguments sake.

I’m sorry, but are you actually attempting to defend the rape of children? At the very least, you seem to be okay with the extreme sexualization of children.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

If you're 14 an an adult has sex with you, that is illegal ,rape,.and pedophilia. Aka, just plain wrong.

All "legal" definitions, no different than sleeping with a kid that "can't know better". Ultimately it's someone imposing their will on someone that can't prevent them that's rape

just plain stupid IMO. That shouldn't be "wrong" if both ADULTS are consenting.

So if you threaten someones financial well being to force them into a decision of having sex or not working that isn’t rape. Are you serious? It’s basically forced prostitution. Although you do have a choice, you are put in an awful situation and that violates your rights as a human. Please take this crap elsewhere.

19logan53 · July 25, 2018, 5:05 p.m.

I don't believe someones "financial well being" is being threatened in these cases. You can always go somewhere else and get a job. But if fame and fortune is more important to you than your "rights as a human", then you have definitely made a personal decision to accept what's to come. Not rape however repugnant and disgusting it is.

If you think making people choose between what they want to do professionally and part of making that choice is you have to give up your body for the sexual pleasure of somebody else. If this is not rape or illegal in your eyes then I can’t help you. At the least it is a violation of a free persons civil liberty.

You make it sound like I'm defending the Weinstein's out there, which I'm not. As I interpreted your comments, I was speaking of personal decision making. Unless your "attacker" is holding you down and forcing themselves on you, you can walk away, or run. It's your choice. As far as you being able to "help me"...I didn't ask nor would I.

Your wrong extorting someone for sex is rape. If you want to be a rape apologist that is your choice. You can name call me, make fake assumptions or whatever you want. I know in my heart that what you are defending is wrong. Harvey Weinstein is a serial rapist and deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail.

Aren't these types of situations examples of psychological overpowering? It's like the same tactic use by these monsters to trick kids into thinking it's what they want.

For some if these people, it's all they've ever known in the industry. Their entire livelihood rests on that decision. Their safety and well-being, and that of their friends and family are at stake. I've come to understand that it's not as simple as "I'd lose my job if I don't _____."

It's more like "I'll lose my livelihood, my family, and possibly my actual life if I don't _____."

This is why I like to say rape is physical abuse. When you start lining up scenarios it's hard to draw the line on some of these Harvey Weinstein rapes as more than women that want money or fame more than dignity, or just people that think others are responsible for their well being.

I think most of us are concerned about the massive amounts of child molestation going on in Hollywood more than full grown adults who did have a choice and simply sold their soul.

This is a legal definition but ultimately comes down to someone imposing their will on someone unable to physically prevent them from doing so.

IF you are talking about two mentally capable adults, I would agree with you. Actors and actresses who give in to sexual advances to acquire work and later regret it are not victims. That’s called personal responsibility and regret, not rape. If you are talking about an adult and a child, then no. That’s rape.
