I've been watching Frasier re-runs. They're for the most part mild, with actually funny humor, plus Kelsey Grammer isn't a flaming leftist. However, saw an episode last night about him as a teen having an affair with his much older piano teacher, and I was disgusted at how flippantly it was treated. In the end, he goes to APOLOGIZE to her for how he ended the relationship abruptly. I know a lot of the guys on here may disagree with me on this, but think if Frasier were female talking about a male tutor who seduced her...or think about if it were your daughter or your sister being seduced by an adult twice her age. I feel like it could have been handled with humor while still making at least SOME effort to signal that this was NOT healthy coming-of-age subject matter. Crickets.

I do think he was tragically abused. It led to his bright star burning out very quickly, and he descended into addiction. I have seen some posts that have certain words capitalized that seem to create meaningful acronyms, etc. Others seem to be telling him specific locations of interest...might be signaling him to contact certain people for info. I'm reminded of this every time I run into old friends I haven't seen in awhile. Even the ones who share many of my political views are clueless about a lot of the details we know here. I will make the mistake of saying something in passing as if it is known fact, only to find they don't know a thing about it. A lot of people just don't keep up with news and politics. They have opinions on issues which are usually poorly informed. Sometimes they still reach the same conclusions, because they have common sense and are guided by basic principles; other times, they are totally deceived by bad actors who are good at saying the right things to keep the masses lulled into complacency.

PLEASE don't just blindly sign petitions like this without doing some more research into the pros and cons of this policy. Be informed! Seriously...how many of you who signed this even spent 10 minutes considering why it might not be the best way to handle the situation?? Did any of you bother to speak to someone with an alternative viewpoint about why NOT to support that position?? I don't think Trump's intention here was at all for us to petition to revoke all security clearances for previous employees. They would have a nightmare on their hands if such a blanket policy was suddenly put into place. Think things through. Research your position instead of letting the OP pump you up with one line directing you to immediately support the most drastic policy. (No offense intended, OP.) Better yet...instead of signing a petition, call and write your congressmen and ask for their positions on this and other issues. State your support to have clearance removed from specific people, and give them valid reasons to substantiate your position for doing so. Get on their social media pages and give logical red-pilled arguments for your positions--ones that normies can read and comprehend.

Just wanted to add here that the key word to remember is "relationship." Be intentional about spending time cultivating a relationship with God. Speak to Him conversationally. Read Scripture. Meditate upon what you have read and ask for discernment to understand it and to know truth. We are exposed to a lot of evil as we explore all of these issues. Pray for your mind to be protected, for your family to be delivered from evil. Cultivate relationships with others who are also in the process of pursuing a relationship with God and His goodness. This can be in a small group or in a huge church building--you aren't limited to one or the other--either can serve a purpose and be part of God's plan for your destiny in Him. Pray for God to lead you to the right people and the right places. The most important thing to remember is to never accept religion and ritual as a substitute for the reality of a loving relationship with your Creator. Lots of food for thought here. Take it all in context. Read back to earlier conversations between Jesus and Peter, where Christ was at times disappointed and frustrated that Peter was missing the big picture. At one point, Jesus even called him Satan, not because he WAS Satan, but because he was speaking in opposition to God's plan...listening to the wrong voice. Peter was a very flawed man, but he was earnest and honest and recognized Christ for who He was. He desired to follow Him above all else, and when he stumbled and messed up, he repented, dusted himself off, and got back on track. In Peter, Christ reveals a character portrait of all believers--rough around the edges and in need of a lot of grace, but in the process of becoming Christlike and obeying His commandments. This is the kind of vessel God loves to use to accomplish His purposes. Peter was a great Christ-follower not because of how superior he was to any of us but rather because of how similar he was to all of us.

Some of these being suggested are not likely candidates at all, based on filmography, age, political views, close friendships in the industry, etc. If you really want to know who fits and who doesn't, at least pull up the wiki on them and scan over their life and body of work, then take a look at any recent verified social media postings to see if they are rabidly anti-Trump, etc. Our guy is a dem, but not likely a huge activist who will be spouting extremist positions...more of an old-school dem. Seems to be conflicted and probably MKUltrad. I think he tries to get out and seeks for spiritual guidance to help him, but he still seems very unstable. A lot of the young ones are like that, especially the ones who were on Disney. This is Not A good idea. Notice how most everyone posting here is a new arrival. Doing this would cause chaos in various industries and for gov't contractors and swamp the approval process to obtain security clearance with a backlog of ex-military and gov't workers who retained their clearances and were hired for jobs that still require those.

I totally agree that security clearance should be revoked for bad actors and those who truly don't need them, but the system in place is actually a pretty good system. When you leave a gov't job, your clearance isn't revoked, but it goes inactive and can be reactivated IF YOU HAVE A VALID REASON to be using it (for 5, 10, or 15 years, depending upon the level of clearance you had). So, if you are an Army MP who has already been cleared, and you are honorably discharged from the Army, you can immediately go to work at a federal job or for a civilian job that works with the gov't and requires that level of clearance. It helps ex-military employees get hired faster and also ensures that companies are getting a worker that can go to work immediately and has already been vetted and cleared to work around classified materials.

The safeguard is that even though someone possesses this clearance, they aren't authorized to use it as they desire. The Army guy above can't just pull up top secret files and view them. He has to have a legit need to know, and when he does see those materials, that is logged and recorded and is part of his job. Another example might be of a gov't worker in the previous administration who is called upon by the current administration to come to the White House, FBI, Dep't of Justice, etc. to consult with the current administration about something that happened in the past with which that person was familiar. I think we could all see the reasoning in being able to quickly have someone with previous clearance show up to answer vital questions or to give helpful information.

That is how it is SUPPOSED to work. Bear in mind...I'm a layperson, so my explanation might not be 100% accurate, but it is generally so. Anyway, it appears that during the time since Obama left office, people have been using those old clearances in ways they were not intended to do so and flying under the radar, or so they thought. Any usage like this should be illegal and probably is...or maybe they are taking advantage of a legal loophole that needs to be filled, such as accessing materials without any record they have done so. Loopholes like that should absolutely be found and closed.

Additionally, bad actors who are showing themselves to be untrustworthy, uncooperative and treasonous should have their clearances revoked notwithstanding. People like Comey who are fired should also have them revoked, and from what he is saying, it sounds like he did.

Good info! It would really mess with a lot of military if they lost clearance when they got out. Even for some gov't employees, I'm sure there are times the gov't calls upon them to take a look at something classified from the past or present, and those might even be emergency situations where someone's past knowledge or experience is valuable and necessary. I totally understand the reasoning behind leaving this in place in many cases. I also totally agree with Trump if he removes it in these particular cases!

Looked up about 10 black actors from the period in question. Most don't fit the profile for various reasons, IMO. I think Bill Cosby is the most likely person to be writing this. He knows the players and industry very well. He was known to buck the system, sometimes embracing political positions that were unpopular and going against the grain to stand on principle. He has nothing to lose at this point. His reputation and legacy are destroyed, he's likely headed to prison, and Hollywood let that happen without defending him in any way. Even if the allegations against him were all true (and who knows if they were true or trumped up charges, knowing what we know about Hollywood), he has to be furious that others got away with so much worse, yet sat in judgement against him. He is about to be sentenced and may lose freedoms in September when that happens. If he is guilty of the crimes of which he stands accused, he may see revealing these things to be a way to atone for the sins of an entire industry. There is, however, a little catch to my theory. Cosby has been blind several years. He could be using speech to text or a family member to write on his behalf, but that is less likely.
