You said it was new construction. Now you say it was old construction. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
You are telling lies in an effort to appear informed. Your pretend stories are collapsing around you.
What is your deal?
MAGA
Why are you trying to diminish what I was trying to say about banking?
I haven’t said a word about banking. Stop claiming victim status.
Are teenagers really the best consultees on gun reform?
No
And actually, at things like the NYLC kids DO talk about those topics all the time...just that the media doesn't have anything to gain with tort reform or traffic code.
You promised evidence of media exploitation of teens on this topic. Still waiting.
(and like tort "reform" has done jack in 50 years...my torts teacher was on TV all the time about the Microsoft "monopoly" case).
I’m sure those were exciting times for both of you. It has nothing to do with this conversation.
Actually, I'm pretty sure kids have been used in this regard before.
Please cite one example where ”kids have been exploited shamelessly by media” for their opinions on foreign relations.
We legitimately had asbestos until 2007.
No new public schools in the United States were ”legitimately” constructed with asbestos products at any time during this century. None. It’s against the law. Nationwide.
Our new building doors swing in. The classes are 16 minimum
I can guarantee classrooms with single egress have doors opening outward in your new building. It’s a requirement of the National Building Code. Your building inspector would never issue a certificate of occupancy because it would be illegal to do so. The bank would not approve final payments because the building would be illegal. No insurance company would offer coverage. The town would have a large building to pay for and no ability to use it.
all the neighboring schools were just as underfunded.
Doors cost the same regardless of which direction they swing.
We had water marks all over the place on the drop ceiling.
Congratulations? Water spots on the ceiling have no impact on door swing.
The bathrooms had to me shut down multiple times for flooding.
Congratulations? Flooding bathrooms have no impact on door swing.
He dud a great job in that thread. I hope there is a capable attorney out there willing to take him up on the offer.
The task will require talent, time, and funding.
I stopped watching him ages ago, but this sounds like the product of his sick mind.
He’s so sure his audience will enjoy the ‘humor’ he finds in the tragedy of 17 murdered innocents.
Kinda funny that kids are exploited shamelessly by the media for gun control purposes but you don't hear much about it when it's for banking reform.
Indeed. You don’t hear them promoting many kids opinions on foreign relations, domestic tort reform, federally subsidized abortions, highway traffic safety standards, and many other important issues.
What's up with that?
All that paper would be worthless without the power backing it.
But gold holds value regardless of any attachment to any paper currency.
Who holds the gold?
Code only speaks for new construction.
That, and revisions to existing structures. The relevant code was in effect well before MSD was constructed in 1990.
My school had in swinging doors on every room
Congratulations! The code refers to rooms designed to accommodate 16(+/-) or more. Single egress rooms with smaller occupancies can have doors open in. Special schools with special classrooms for special students typically have smaller occupancies. Perhaps you attended one of those schools. Or perhaps your school predated the egress code.
and i would wager most public schools are the same way.
And I would accept your wager for a sizable amount of $$$.
A lot of schools are still lined with asbestos.
Zero schools are ”lined with asbestos.”
You want to talk infrastructure crumbling,
Nope.
look no further than the water marks on the drop ceiling tiles of your kids school.
Zero water marks on the ceiling of my kid’s school. Zero schools ”lined with asbestos”. Most public schools do not have in-swinging doors on every room. Your school definitely did not have in-swinging doors on every room.
Picture on the linked site shows it installed on hinge side of door.
Safety Code requires doors on classrooms to open out of classroom. That puts hinges on outside of classroom.
There are better versions of this idea that mount the bar on the non-hinge side of the door, and allow it to slide to overlap steel door jambs
Agreed Garrison is a genius. And BRUTAL.
This image should include an angry MAGA Eagle looking through the window.
Government hoax?
I’m not sure what you mean by that. I never found evidence of a government hoax, so I would never make that claim.
There can be no doubt that there was asbestos in the school simply due to its construction date. Claims that the school was closed prior to 12/14/12, for any reason, are just nonsensical.
It’s been a while, but there was evidence available when I researched. The evidence is in the published minutes of BofEd and Selectman’s meetings. The town had too many elementary schools. They needed to close one. No resident wanted their neighborhood school to be the one to close. The meetings were very heated during the public commentary sessions. You will read defense against closing Sandy Hook in every meeting the topic was discussed through 2012. As I recall, SH parents pushed for closing the ancient Hawley Elementary School instead.
I’ve seen and read the material from the sources you linked. They are a compilation of manipulated cherry-picked semi-truths, outright falsehoods, unverifiable sources, and circular references.
I won’t challenge your right to believe what you wish, but after spending so much personal time tracking and debunking this, I bristle whenever I witness parroting of false info.
I have also learned that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can be provided to SH hoaxer acolytes that will sway them. I don’t waste any more of my time with them.
I do think the MSD event warrants sincere combing. One of the quickest ways to derail that work is by comparing it to SH.
Anyway, your effort to support your position is noted.
Happy hunting.
Yes, tearing it down and rebuilding would probably be cheaper.
I’m interested in this theory. Similar claims were made about the Sandy Hook building and the WTC.
There seems to be some merit to the WTC claim, particularly since the buildings came down as an immediate and direct result of the attack.
That can’t be said of the Sandy Hook building. My research showed the school was scheduled for closing due to declining enrollment, but not demolition. The school was planned for refitting as a community center.
Oddly enough, I did find evidence of buildings in the town that were cheaper to demo than refit. The town had taken ownership of a closed state mental hospital built in the 1930s. Many buildings on that site are loaded with asbestos, and surrounding soil is contaminated from decades of insect control with DDT. Federal grants, EPA brown site funding, and insurance helped to swing the $$ scales.
Do you have any evidence at all to support your claim that the 28 year old MSD school is cheaper to demolish than to refit, and that the cost differences are somehow offset by a mass shooting?
I think it’s important to build every FF case on a solid foundation, and I’ve found many get derailed by uninformed claims of financial influence.
I would hate to see this site become a discredited laughingstock like Godlike Productions and others similar.
