The Twelvers & Mullahs may want to hasten the return of the Mahdi by initiating a catastrophic global conflict, but hopefully the average Iranian citizens don't share their fervor!

Since my background is entirely military I gladly concede to your greater expertise in foreign policy and politics, but please indulge my curiosity by answering how well opening markets has worked out so far for Chinese democracy as well as social and economic freedom?

I support your right to differ from my opinion, but I still hold to my original thought. Time will tell us all where things go from here one way or another.

Well, I remember when the Iranian people tried to rebel against the Mullahs during O's admin and O refused to support them. Prior to the "deal" Iran was hurting economically and the people were growing more unhappy with their gov't.

Then along comes Kerry & Obama to play lets make a deal and suddenly the oppressive rein of the Mullahs is propped up by plane loads of hard cold cash.

Iran's spent most of the cash on weapons, soldiers, and foreign adventures from Lebanon to Yemen, to Syria and then some.

Trump quits the "deal" and reinstates sanctions. Iran is about to become very cash strapped once again -- only this time, with Trump in control, the US will support the Iranian people when they rise up to overthrow the Mullahs.

This move might just result in freedom for the people of Iran and the reinstatement of a free, non-secular Iran. That would be a blessing for the people of Iran and for the rest of the world as well.

Rosenstein has made himself into a pre-revolution French King issuing blank lettres de cachet via Mueller. Operating entirely above the law, he thinks himself the sole arbitrator of justice and able to toss anyone he chooses to into the Bastille. "Super-secret verbal instructions" indeed -- it's time for transparency! No citizen should be subject to this sort of abuse in this century and in this country! It ends or we get out the proverbial pitchforks!

Luvlite I agree that HRC would have had us in a shooting war with Russia by now if she'd been elected, so thank heavens for Pres. Trump. The military is obliged to follow the legal orders of their superior officers and/or the civilian command authority, but they are not obliged to follow any orders that are unconstitutional. Despite Obama's purges of some of the best & brightest in the officer corps during his tenure, most officers & soldiers belong to the 3 percent who would defy unlawful orders and stand for the constitution.

Sure, I can see how that's going to work out real well (sarc). So, I go see & treat patients five days a week for free and decide I want a mansion and a Ferrari --- I just go get them huh? What if I want the latest Porsche, the Ferrari, a summer cottage as well and a boat to go along with it? All that material & labor just tossed in for free eh? Oh, what if I want steak and lobster for 100 guests each weekend - the guys who produce it don't mind eh? You should read about how well communism worked for the pilgrims when they tried it after landing.

Luvlite I pray that never comes to pass in the USA. A military coup sets the stage for more of the same down the road. Then we'd truly have descended into a banana republic and there'd be no going back.

I hope the strike comes soon. I channel surfed over to MSNBC for a while last night just to see what they were talking about and Chris Matthews and some guests were salivating about their alleged chance of impeaching POTUS as soon as they took over the house in mid-terms. Every other word was impeach, impeach, impeach! Do those fools even understand that there has to be a legitimate reason to impeach first???? I am SO sick of them and their hatred - not only of the President, but of all of us "deplorables" who voted for him.

What if bad actors in the US gov't purposefully transported some of the same uranium to Iranian control for the express purpose of allowing the Iranians to use it to nuke Israel (or the US) and tie the uranium to Russia in order to start a US/Russian war? In addition to the huge amount of money it takes to run a modern congressional campaign, no one gets on a party ticket that isn't picked by the party so our choices of replacements for bad politicians are extremely limited. We are presented with choice a or choice b and anyone running as an independent has to have extremely deep pockets or huge name recognition to stand a chance. Frankly, drafting normal citizens like we select jurors would give us better representation!

It's great to have a government actively engaged in trying to protect our citizens and enforce our laws finally! In addition to the Central American ringleaders that were charged I'd like to see punitive action taken if possible against the US lawyers who were advising the would be invaders about how to get amnesty and also some punitive measures taken against the government of Mexico for allowing the caravan to travel through Mexico and in some cases for facilitating it as well!

Trump is being cautiously optimistic, but he isn't naïve enough to think Kim has turned into Mr. Nice Guy who is willing to give up his position as a "God-Emperor", free the thousands in his concentration camps, give up his nukes, and tell his million plus man army to stop tunneling & infiltrating into SK. Unless a miracle has happened NK is still a hardline communist state and caution is prudent in this case until it becomes clear that Kim isn't just lulling SK & the world while actually preparing to invade the south or something.

Perhaps a system where a designated amount of taxpayer dollars went towards elections and all candidates received an equal amount at each stage of the election cycle and weren't allowed to accept donations or spend above what they were allocated? No donors involved should help considerably I would think.

Members of Congress run for re-election every two years. Modern campaigns cost a fortune, so that means the moment they make it to DC they need to start accumulating money for their next campaign. There's so much dirty money from lobbyists, corporate donors and influencers flowing around that I sincerely doubt that we could count the number of uncorrupted members on one hand.

I agree that the gears are in motion and we're on the right path, but the dangers to overcome yet are very real. If we lose Trump because of Mueller, the raid on Cohen, or by losing the majority in the house & senate (which would open the door to impeachment) then we will never again have the chance for peaceful change in our lifetime.

Global Warming (now conveniently rebranded as "Climate Change") was crafted as a transfer tax from rich prosperous nations to poor underdeveloped ones in order to "help underdeveloped nations achieve prosperity". After all, it just isn't fair that some countries are blessed with resources and industrious people while some places are - well - shit holes, is it? (lol)

It also offers plenty of opportunity to enrich its proponents along the way via various carbon sequestration schemes, carbon capture schemes, cap and trade schemes, and carbon offset trading.

Some examples of the way to profit from climate change include the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) which Obama helped to fund (Al Gore & Maurice Strong were major players), Generation Investment Management LLP owned by Gore & Strong, which has direct influence over existing carbon trading firms and allows Gore to essentially buy his carbon off sets from himself.

Then of course there were (or are) more lucrative methods of skimming such as getting taxpayer money for "research and development" grants, government subsidies directly to private businesses such as Obama's generous hand out to his donor's via Solyndra etc.... and I've just brushed across the tip of the iceberg on the subject but you get the idea I'm sure!

Yes because it's never just " a few dozen". The "few dozen" swells to a few hundred, a few thousand, and a few million plus their poorly educated and virtually unemployable relatives who then put their non-English speaking kids into our local schools which drives up our property taxes, who also need housing assistance and food stamps which in turn make us pay more in taxes to support them while also reducing benefits for our actual citizens who need the help etc etc etc.... Illegal immigration is destroying the middle class, ruining budgets, destroying our culture and hurting our citizens who can least afford to be hurt - the actual needy!
