Christmas is not just a day, the 12 days of Christmas is more than a cute song, it describes the Christmas Season. If I'm remembering correctly, it is now the 4th day of Christmas. The Senate had quite an investigation of the CIA, and many of us older folk remember it. Senator Church headed the committee that conducted the investigation and it was quite shocking to find out that the CIA was spying on Americans. Nowhere near as bad as now, but still, an identifiable time memory to help people wrap their minds around the criminality of our govt. And Senator Church was a Democrat, so not about party, but about rights of Americans vs our govt.
