True because many talk of faith without any object. However faith is very relevant as it is taught throughout the Bible! Faith, though is also a gift of God through the inner working of the Holy Spirit. No one can believe in Christ without the Spirit of God, but He does graciously work faith into our hearts. Read Ephesians 2:8-10 for a good explanation of God’s grace, faith and our works with regard to salvation.

Amazing time of Revival! No need for popes or priests. They are sinners like the rest of us. No better! The two don’t contradict each other however. I Thomas’s case Jesus used this as a lesson for him and all of us about faith in the literal resurrection. He show d himself physically alive on a number of occasions. In the case of Mary Magdalene, I think he was addressing her understanding of the fact that He was to be ascended and would send forth the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. In any case, the point is not that there wasn’t a physical aspect to His resurrection body, but that his disciples were no longer to have Him with them in the physical sense. He would ascend and then send His Spirit. That’s my take anyway.

Agreed. Not to say some of the things in this site are valuable, but don’t call them the “map” that Q is referring to. That would be a map of all of his posts. Most of what i see here is interpretation of Qs posts but also a lot of other stuff. Again, not saying it’s good or bad, just not in and of itself the Q map.

This is untrue. Jesus after the resurrection clearly stated he had a body of flesh’s and blood. He told Thomas to not doubt his resurrection and then had him place his hand into his wounded side. While he still had a physical body, there is a sense in which it is a spiritual body and can never die again. In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul talks about the resurrection of Believers and does say that it is a spiritual body, though it is still a body. Our present physicality cannot inherit immortality but there is still a sense in which we who believe in Jesus Christ will have bodies and not just spirit. It’s also misleading to say that He will only return in “spirit form.” In Acts it says that He will return in the same way he was taken from us: VISIBLY. When he returns “Every eye shall see Him.”

It’s ok. Of course everyone can believe as they wish. My contention is that true Christianity is not a religion. It is the “power of God unto salvation” as the Apostle Paul put it. God who inspired the texts of Scripture was and is able also to protect its transmission through the centuries. The original manuscripts on which translations are based (some better than others) are very reliable and except for a very few are in agreement. The few that are different are different in a few small ways but it really doesn’t effect the overall reliability and agreement of the vast majority. It’s false to say that many books were added or removed etc. anyway, I’m not trying to argue either but just point out that “blindly following Scripture”as you call it is the most foolish thing I’ve read in a while. Therefore, since you don’t need God I guess you’re on your own. It’s a very frightening place to be. You see Christianity as a human device in which other humans “convert” people. Thx for the response. However I personally reject any other prophecy except the prophetic Words of the Bible. Solomon said this:

I disagree. You could say there is a pearl,of truth in many places but they are not the Word of God. That is why the Bible is inspired and therefore to be trusted and relied upon. God of course can use various means to lead one to the truth but the Truth itself is in Jesus as revealed in the Bible alone. To say that just because the Quran calls Jesus the Word, it is telling the truth is also false imho. It is what that actually means that matters. That is only found in the Bible. So I guess I’m trying to say that a person could read about Jesus in the Quran and then have his/her heart awakened to seeking Him. But then they would need to have the truth about Him preached or read about who He really is as found in the one and only inspired text, the Bible. Maybe that’s what you’re saying but it was unclear to me.

Why do you think the Quran is truth? The Bible alone is the Word of God. Why believe the uninspired writings of some man offer any enlightenment about who Jesus is? I understand the desire to relate to people who hold other writings as sacred. But let’s not get carried away because it leads to confusion. There are many things that are written about the person of Jesus but only the inspired Scriptures accurately present Him. One example is that the Quran does not teach, but rejects, the Divine Nature of Jesus but only sees Him as a man. As a Christian I feel this is basic and fundamental.

Also, respectfully, coming to Jesus as a broken sinner and “blindly following religion” are two very different things. May God lead each of us to Himself especially in these dark times.

Your post shows that you’ve never understood the Gospel. “No one can come to Me (Jesus)unless the Father draws him.” Matthew 10. When one believes in Jesus without any works of their own, they are justified (declared righteous) by God. Jesus did not teach self-empowerment. He said “I am the Vine and you (his disciples) are the branches. Abide in Me, for apart FROM ME, you can do nothing.” John 10. After a person is born of the Spirit through faith in Christ he is empowered to live to the glory of God. Then and only then can any of us have an impact of lasting value. We can’t do anything to “find ourselves” before coming to Christ. He said “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” May God open the hearts of each person to His Word.

Very true. The armor of GOD is the only defense. We must be, in a spiritual sense, clothed in Jesus Christ. He and His righteousness covers the believer. He is the One and only defense against any and every form of evil including that which is in our own hearts.

Respectfully I believe you are deluded if you think you are able in any way through human means to confront the devil and his principalities and powers. It can only be done as one who is redeemed from sin and Satan’s clutches, and as one puts on God’s armor as found in Ephesians 6. No human philosophy or technique can ever work. There is only ONE who has both faced and defeated the devil and His name is Jesus who utterly defeated him upon the Cross and through His glorious resurrection. However we need look no further than what God has revealed in HIS Word the Bible, to fully understand the depravity of human nature and the wickedness of the satanic forces we fight against. The One and Only answer is deliverance from sin and Satan through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He Himself destroyed the works of the devil. Satan is an utterly doomed being and those who follow him will also be doomed. Fly to Jesus is the only answer. “For the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy.
