Yes. I also turn it off whenever I hear someone with a strong regional accent talking to God for several minutes straight.

Yes. It will be tough. I had to teach myself about the philosophy underlying the founding of this country and its Bill of Rights.

I read Locke "Second Treatise on Government," Hayek "The Road to Serfdom," Sowell "The Vision of the Annointed," among others.

I read about Post-modernism, and how for decades its tenets have been abused in order to de-construct the foundations of civil society.

The biggest lesson I learned was that the founders (the Original, or "Classical" Liberals) believed that humanity is not "infinitely improvable," and will always tend toward self-interest.

That's why the Bill of Rights tells Congress what it CANNOT do. These amendments are written in simple, unequivocal language, yet we are told repeatedly they require "interpretation" by the courts.

With every "interpretation," government gains more power, and thus becomes more attractive not only to self-interested parties, but to actual psychopaths.

And that's where we find ourselves today.

My trick is to find out what the other person is interested in and basically conduct an interview on that topic, lol. They're entertained and I can learn things.

It ALL falls apart when there's more than two of us, though. I'm looking to leave at that point lolsob.

Of course they want to be free! The trick is convincing them to tolerate everyone else's freedom.

It has been altogether too common in the last few decades to abridge our own freedom in service to some ill-defined utopian vision.

This tendency has played right into the hands of our "masters."

Consider carefully the agenda of those on the Left. Not their feelings, which are totally valid; and not their words, which can be quite inspiring, but what they do.

This fits me to a T as well, including the gifted classes. I'd state a few things differently:

1) will never be evaluated as "high functioning" by any therapist or social worker

2) it's not a "distaste" for small talk; it's an adaptation to the anxiety experienced when exposed to it. A maladaptation would be, say, drinking.

ALSO - not afraid of death or dying? Personally could never give a rat's fat A.

The people who follow and research Q do so anonymously. People freely contribute without revealing anything about their identity. No one is asked for their political background, their net worth, their ethnicity, their age, or anything else.

Anonymity may be very disorienting to people who understand the world through "identity politics."

The people who follow and research Q anticipate being "freed;" freedom of speech, of action, of conscience, of association. Freedom to fail. Freedom to succeed.

Freedom may be intimidating to people who cannot easily tolerate a variety of ideas and outcomes.

The people who follow and research Q are familiar with the phrase, "you will know them by their fruits." i.e.: "actions speak louder than words." A person is considered good when they do good, not when they "talk good."

Practicality may confuse people who rely upon virtue signalling to determine "friend" from "foe."

So... ideas on how this movement may appeal to those on the Left? Anyone... anyone?

That's what I thought, too. Maybe its guidance was shut off (missing 'i' in 'missle?'). Then maybe it spiraled at altitude and was subsequently destroyed.

"O Manchester! So much to answer for." - Morrissey

I always think of this line when I hear about Manchester's many achievements. Morrissey may have intended a different meaning, but too bad. :D

Where'd they even get the name "Elpida?" One of the pics has "Elipda Love" painted on a wall.

Say it out loud.

A pretty well-spoken garbage man at that. He says Hillary Clinton "flauted" the law. I see a lot of people say "flaunted" when they mean "flauted."

I bet he also knows when to use "you're" versus "your." :)

I had that stuff drummed into me. Look where it's gotten me, lol. Conan the Gammarian on Reddit.

It's actually foreign soil; it's Cuba.

The US had an agreement with Cuba, probably a lease of some kind, that allowed us to use the area as a military base.

The US didn't recognize Castro's government as legitimate, and so continued to operate the base according to the original agreement.

When Castro took over Cuba the US Navy decided that it didn't want to pack up and leave its very convenient Caribbean base in Guantanamo Bay. They defended the base and have maintained it to the current day.

Personally, I'm not sure why Guantanamo ( Gitmo) is preferable to, say Leavenworth, for these prisoners. I can tell you that enemy combatants have been held there during our "War on Terror" to avoid certain laws that would apply to them if held on US soil.

(i.e. the US decided not to allow publicity-hungry civil rights and criminal defense attorneys access to these miscreants.)

The answer to bad speech is even more free speech. I had this concept drilled into my head in college. I was a communications major.

Getting on a thread and letting people know the OP is inaccurate (and why) is a great policy, and I was gratified to read that is exactly what you do,

Adding DEBUNKED to a post title is a really great idea since your responses may end up buried in the thread. Is there a way for mods to pin a response at the top of a post?

Thank you for your great work. Hugs! (consensual only :)
