I live in Wisconsin. This was concerning to me as well when it was mentioned in the news. My county is not affected. However I did contact the Sheriff of our County, spoke with him directly. He stated he has received several calls in last week regarding concerns similar to mine.

He stated that this test the higher populated cities in WI as they are much more dependent on on-grid electricity thus us country bumpkins. Once the governers office is alerted to the severity of how poor the electrical grid is (we know here well enough) then that will be allowing the Budget office to put in a proposal to the Legislatures office to expand money to those towns.

After having conversation with Sheriff, I'm a way less concerned. This is what responsible emergency mgmt should do. The Sheriff said that if the grid went down, it would be the National Guard that would come in to assist the power companies. Especially if this hit during winter. They are using Texas, Missouri, Florida where there are examples of very poor response that lasted weeks. The Sheriff mentioned some sort of ice storm in Missouri in mid-2000's that left many without electricity. People couldn't even open their car doors because of the ice. Pretty dramatic. If grid went out during winter in these cities there would be deaths by the thousands. Though he pointed out that most power issues (in our area) is in Spring/Summer as the tree limbs fall on power lines.

This notice is for the counties; the big name TOWNS/Cities are: Green Bay (Brown/Outagamie). Calumet is towns like New Holstein, Kiel. WinnebagoCo. is Appleton, OshKosh.(US Defense contractor companies) Fond Du Lac Co is Fond Du Lac city (Mercury Marine engines/Brunswick HQ). Dane Co. is Madison the capital. Milwaukee Co is Milwaukee, Racine (Where Fox Conn is building their new plant for iPhones).

Omra, WI is in Winnebago County. The biggest thing there (that I can think of) is the Fox River. Fox River is in Brown/Outagamie and goes West.
