I think providing the links to the archives would be a good addition to the new introduction thread–but it would be better if you left the archives of existing threads (the ones on this board) off–a simple link would be better. Since the archives don't store the underlying images, you only have access to the thumbnails…which is often useless when we're looking for details.

I'm still working on a Java program that will allow us to focus on examining patterns. It's slow-going because I've got about four months of experience with the language, and very little experience dealing with GUIs…but it's an excellent learning experience.

As far as the purpose for the graphics, yeah…I want to be able to see things visually.

I was going to make a hyper-cube game during this break, but I'm doing this instead. I see the grid image not so much as a 2D image, but stacks of 2D images lying on top each other, each shifted left. I don't think there's any noise in there whatsoever; with the way VQC has been speaking, there's a beautiful pattern underlying all of it; it's just a matter of finding it.

If what I'm saying is right, then we're really looking at a 4D pattern rendered in 2D: the individual cells (can) contain an infinite dimension, and there's another dimension that represents the stack of "trees." If we can take that up another dimension–ie, make this grid image a 3D image, then that should get us to 5D. It's just a matter of seeing how everything relates.

I've tried to upload to Mega, and it's useless. I'm getting about 2 MB up a day with a free account; an average thread is about 200 MB.

Most people who use Linux likely use wget; for others, there's this. It works pretty well for most websites–most notably this one.

I can also put up a few torrent links in a few weeks, if that is preferred. I have backups of all general threads separately and the entire board as a whole.
