Intro to Baking

Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post their diggs, memes and prayers. For this to happen requires ''bakers–which is why they have been called "the core of this board." Bakers perform several key functions: First, they maintain the infrastructure of the board (the dough), keeping it clean, tidy, and up-to-date. Second, they manage the transition from one bread to another (baking). Third, they post notables'' for each bread. Last, bakers set the tone for each bread via their choice of bread title and /comms/ with posters. When all goes well, baking is a fun & exciting opportunity to serve. When things get wonky and shills attack–bakers carry on anyway. Shadilay, fellow bakers!

maybe the biggest learning lies around dealing with "failure." we never really fail–bc just about anything can be fixed one bake later–but sometimes feel pretty exposed, especially when shills get into the act.

Always good, but often hard to achieve. Some anons on digs do an excellent job collecting all the relevant posts.

 

But i have taught these skills to engrs and had similar challenges–verbal description is not everyone's cup of tea. Did you see me explaining last night why it's important to describe Q proofs/graphics? Most anons who do visuals tend to think everything can see what they see wo/description. I sure can't unless it's REALLY obvious.

yes, missed ya today, was up early. almost baked but doc showed up to scoop up muh collector's notes. so i could do some more work here.

 

although we can always do more–and there is some more still to do–we now have a basic dough for this place. And a little library of resources for both anons and bakers.

 

LIVE classes are the best. But think of how much easier it will be for new bakers with these steps and vids. And maybe some of the stuff we talk about here with other bakers – the problems we encounter and how we address them. Never had anything like that before.

 

Will have to figure out how to package for /qresearch/ dough in a bit, i think. Add to "how to bake" section?

Two reasons:

  1. variable hard to predict lag.

Everyone has their baking style–some bakers add moar than others, some less. But unless bread is very fast, i check qresear.ch to see if already notabled–that cuts out some of them.

That George notable was controversial; might take a second look. The How to post info for bakers was put in as a global notable so you don't really need it in the regular notables.

 

Stuff like McCabe being seen on Feb 14–there's a lot of that kind of speculation about people disappearing, most of the time they reappear.

 

You could try to separate clearly important news from secondary stuff, also. Stuff on corona (like latest quarantine news) can often be combined into one entry with a generic title ("corona news" , "corona research") – a lot depends on how important it is.

 

Just my 2 cents worth, you'll get a feel for what's primary and what's not as you go along. I tend to include a lot, must my style. But "neutralize" inflammatory headlines and always ask "how is it relevant to what Q is pointing to right now?"

Might look like we're not getting a lot of anons for baker classes.

I didn't bake gy last night. This created a certain amount of chaos–ghosting baker, e-bake, then me dropping in around 5am ET to find new e-bake by anons. Helped get things back on track and then ghosted the bred @200.

But right away, a baker picked up–turns out it was a brand new baker. SEE CAP 1

Next bread, he handed off - to ANOTHER new baker. SEE CAP 2

WnB piped up that he wasn't getting to bake–again.

How to handle notables when there is more than one baker per bread

There are no hard and fast rules here, but the following is based on baking traditions that seem to work pretty well.

 

1. If there are already notables:

Can be from a baker or note-taker.

a. Notes from a baker: try your best to leave Baker 1's notable intact unless there are obvious spelling errors, major factual errors, or anon objections that don't come from shills (usually obvious).

b. Notes from a note-taker: depends on the note-taker. Can range for 2-3 sketchy notes to a bun that looks ready for baking. Generally, note-taker notes are like suggestions. But with experienced note-takers, I usually leave their notes alone or make only minor changes–and also give credit, see below.

 

2. Insert "baker change" in the notes to show where you picked up the bake. (If a note-taker made a significant contribution, i also insert something like "note collector" to show his notables.) Every so often–like during e-bakes–there are so many contributors that the best notation is "crowd bake."

 

3. Ordering the notes: When I'm Baker 2, I always use Baker 1's order. Next bread, I'm can change it up if i want. Details: Q posts are always in new-to-old order. But notes can be ordered either up or down (up is new-to-old, down is old-to-new). In long breads with multiple note-takers/bakers, it's common to go down (common in gy shift)–less confusing. But there's no rule.

 

Here's an example of a "two-baker" bread where Baker 2 keeps the same order as Baker 1 and marks the the change of baker in the notes (this is not usually bolded, just used here for emphasis):

Baker report here.

 

The baking school is beginning to pay off. Not only does it give would-be bakers an easy, step-by-step approach to baking but also the chance to ask questions and kind of 'grok' the baker culture by participating in discussions with the bakers who attend (usually the teacher plus at least 3-5 others).

 

So it helps bridge the gap between bakers and anons–which is very important.

 

On a board like /qrb/, the tension between the two is very low, in part bc we don't have shills division-fagging. But also, we don't usually attract shill bakers (true even last summer). But on /qresearch/ there can be bigger problems. And in fact, it was dissatsifaction with bakers one day that led to the board takeover by BO. Anons were genuinely unhappy with the bakers that day, and a subset begged BO to "do something." That subset was probably a bunch of shills, possibly planted in advance. At least some of the bakers were unknown, so they could also have been plants. The suspicious part was just how well-prepared BO was to immediately take over–like he had it planned.

 

But still–this could never have happened if there had been better /comms/ between bakers and anons in the first place. In addition to helping anons to bake, the baking school also makes it easier for anons to understand where bakers are coming from–and vice-versa. Win-win.

hey teach - after seeing the aftermath of an ebake last night, had this idea.

Idea: E-bake module for complete beginners

This could be a class just for anons wanting to know how to ebake

OR

an hour-long mini-class (maybe 3 pm instead of 4pm)–I could probably do it

OR

super simple instructions in the baking section of the dough

(yes we have baking instructions–but this would be simplified and stripped down: intended for just anons who e-bake at the last minute wo/notables)

Thx a lot - very helpful to have an account of early attacks on /qrsearch/ bakers. Below is an account of the Baker's Union campaign from May - Aug 2019. You know a lot about this but others may not.

 

Bakers Union Campaign

When I was new to the board in Fall 2018, everything seemed relatively normal–shills etc but no big-time attacks on bakers. Then 8bit gave up his BO position to BVs in early April 2019, just after i started baking. Nobody knew at the time that he was forced to do so by the BVs.

 

Once they took over, problems ensued right away, e.g., BV once deleted half the notables when i was baking by banning supposed spammer. Then they deleted the Information Warfare thread (mine); later other threads were also deleted. @FJ soon took the vacated BO position for himself and announced there would be no more baker checks, even tho they were helpful for checking on shills (CAP 2).

 

At the end of April, @FJ instituted per post captchas. At first, anons were divided on that bc it looked like it might help with shills/spam. Turned out not to be true, and gradually most anons turned against them. I was never a fan because it made bakingwhich is already a challengeeven tougher. When I objected, @FJ noted my hashed id and started coming after me repeatedly. I was not the only one but was definitely targeted. CAP 1 shows the start.

 

After that, @FJ started doing sneak attacks at night on bakers, always with his fukken flashing BO tripcode, sometimes together with BVs. Shills would join in the shitshow to the point where no one would bake the late shifts. By the end of May, @FJ was claiming that 80% of bakers were comp'd and posted the buffalo slaughter pics to intimidate bakers and anons - CAP 2.

 

It took a while for most anons to realize the full scope of the problem–and many did not truly realize it until @fj actually seized the board in mid-July (using the pretext of non-responsive bakers as an excuse). The changes he made to the dough were not endorsed by anons or bakers, especially forcing notables off the main thread.

 

At that point, most of the baking crew fled to /qrb/ after 8bit set it up, but visited /qresearch/ for Q posts. Then @fj kicked the remaining bakers off /qresearch/. (Still wondering who he got to bake his crappy muh joos breads). In the end, @FJ only backed down because Q said "revert the dough." But he never apologized to anons but instead continued to subvert the board right up to deplatforming: >>>/qrb/19846, >>>/qrb/36504

 

At this point, I hold no grudge towards @FJ but do retain both the memory of what went down and the evidence to prove it. What's in the caps is part of the picture.

Baking crew is rad. Solid group. Just new a few more lotsas. "Lotsa" idea came one night when shills were trying to get bakers to offer handoff each and every bred, saying we only handed off to our 'favs.' Complete bs. I think i said how yeah, sure, there are lotsa bakers to hand off to–and mv ran with it. Irritates the shills no end whenever we have fun.

 

FJ–don't know what to think. 8bit said he was a decent BV at one point. One thing: a board like this brings out both the best and worst in people. Anyone who comes here unprepared and has character weaknesses might become unbalanced. Maybe that's what happened with Leafy., too.

Answer:

Th [8kun] site has a history of going down on clearnet but staying accessible through TOR. When you access the site through TOR you can not post images, such as the /qresearch/ Iwo Jima Marines you see at the top of every bread.

 

But you can still post youtube videos. That particular video when linked produces the image you are seeing in my post.

Here's my thinking on these instructions. Wanted to do really simple instructions just for e-baking. Maybe bc i'm on gy where e-bakes happen a lot.

 

Couldn't use the latest instructions we're using for the baking class because they include videos–which take too long to load.

 

(Ideally, we'd have a video that goes thru the whole process–baking and ebaking–with text overlaps at key points. Want to learn how to do the overlays when time permits.This is definitely a possibility if we use endchan for posting vids–because it allows 350 mg vids. Just post on endchan qrbunker board.)

The only problem: each instruction's in a separate post. Takes too long for anons trying to ebake on the fly. So i took pretty much the same stuff and put it on one page with caps.

baker oss1 had something weird habben when he baked. here's what page 3 looked like (CAP).

 

That page was changed a little the day before, tracked it down but still don't know if that's why his dough was so weird many breads later. But whoever made the change is a "guest" (unnamed pastebin).

 

Hope the restored dough is ok, had to track it down fast.

Yes - would be better bc it's always harder to get anything done off the General thread (much less "off board"). But hard to imagine a truly cooperative relationship between FJ and anons. So sorry you're sick, get better soon. i had a really painful sinus condition earlier in the week. It was all i could think of for 3 days, but better now.

 

I can do baking class today, have got all the slides, etc. Will start a new thread in about an hour and post all the slides/vids up front. That way, anons can prep all the vids in advance.

 

Could probably do at least throw out some common questions on notables for new bakers to start a discussion.

 

New bakers i'm seeing are a hard-working lot who tend to produce many notables. So maybe the discussion would be on how to narrow the focus a little, so bakers doesn't run constantly. Also, how to stop when you need to even when there's no replacement baker. Last, how to deal with shills. It's a little different when you bake than when you anon.

 

So no worries, get better soon.

 

If anyone else wants to teach or present anything in particular lemme know. Or you can just show up and just wing it like always. If we have more bakers than anons for a while, we can talk about bakering stuff.

No worries about yesteday, baker. All is well. Nobody did anything wrong, we just gotta keeping working on good comms. Just goes with the territory coz we can't contact other bakers at will.

 

Now as far as today goes, and setting a pastebin to private, don't know much about that never did it. Bakers wouldn't do on purpose bc no other baker could pick up the bake–wouldn't just be you. Doc ain't gonna bake forever, so wouldn't make sense.

 

Possible that it might happen by mistake?

And what happened in the end?

 

Lot of shit happens around here, much of it based on temporary misunderstandings. Therefore much patience and forbearance are needed to bake. Also forgiveness for past mishaps.

 

Good to remember that we are not here for ourselves but for the work we do. When the focus is on that work, it's not so hard to leave the small stuff behind and keep moving forward.

 

Two things:

 

One, try to avoid getting triggered by every little thing, either from anons/shills or bakers.

 

Two, most differences can be overcome or ignored. If we can ignore what happened with FJ in the past, we can ignore baker differences.

 

Private pastebin thing - will try to see if i can understand, time's a little limited right now. No matter. Thanks for all your work, it is invaluable during a time when we have so little backup and so much going on.

i just went thru all the qr breads from this am

still not clear to me that whoever claimed to be doc was actually doc

pastebin was definitely set to private by somebody who initially claimed to be doc for 2 breads but could have been anybody, no markers

oss stepped in

then doc baked with normal pastebin, not private

 

I'm gonna set up the dough for next class now

just another day in the office…..
