Politicization problems exist in U.S. spy agency assessments on foreign influence in the 2020 U.S. election, including analysts who appeared to hold back information on Chinese meddling efforts because they disagreed with the Trump administration's policies, according to an intelligence community inspector.
Barry Zulauf, an analytic ombudsman and longtime intelligence official, issued a 14-page report obtained by the Washington Examiner to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, revealing his investigation was “conducted in response to IC complaints regarding the election threat issue." In addition, he lamented the “polarized atmosphere has threatened to undermine the foundations of our Republic, penetrating even into the Intelligence Community.”
The intelligence community’s classified assessment on foreign influence in the 2020 election, which will not focus on claims of mail-in fraud or unfounded allegations of voting machines flipping millions of votes, was also submitted to Congress on Thursday. Expected in December, the assessment was delayed as senior intelligence officials clashed over the role played by China, and as director of national intelligence, John Ratcliffe sought to include more viewpoints in the final analysis.
“Given analytic differences in the way Russia and China analysts examined their targets, China analysts appeared hesitant to assess Chinese actions as undue influence or interference. The analysts appeared reluctant to have their analysis on China brought forward because they tend to disagree with the administration’s policies, saying in effect, I don’t want our intelligence used to support those policies,” Zulauf concluded, saying this behavior violated analytic standards requiring independence from political considerations.

Capitol security officials resign under pressure from Congressional leadership over breach

The U.S. Capitol police chief will soon be gone, along with the sergeants-in-arms of both the House and Senate
Three top officials responsible for protecting the U.S. Capitol and congressional chambers all resigned on Thursday, amid calls for heads to roll after the building was stormed by a mob of angry Trump supporters the day before.
First to go was House sergeant-at-arms Paul Irving, whose resignation was announced by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) at her weekly news conference. The speaker also called for Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund to resign, criticizing the top cop for a "failure of leadership."
According to The New York Times, Pelosi said of Sund, "He hasn't even called us since this happened." The Associated Press reported that the head of the Capitol Police union also called for Sund to step down.
Chief Sund announced his resignation that evening, writing in a short memorandum that he would remain in his active leadership post on Jan. 17, but then transition into "sick leave status" to use up the 440 hours remaining on his balance of paid sick time off.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) then released a statement confirming that he had "requested and received the resignation of Michael Stenger, the Senate Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper, effective immediately."
Congressional leaders echoed the public dismay over how easily the Capitol building and its chambers were breached.
The AP also reported that three days prior to the protest, U.S. Capitol police turned down an offer from the Pentagon to send National Guard troops to assist in keeping the Capitol grounds secure. The department also turned down the Justice Department's initial offer to send FBI agents on Wednesday as the building was being swarmed.
Capitol police also faced heavy criticism Wednesday when video circulating online showed officers appearing to allow outside barrier gates to open for protesters demanding to enter the premises. TheBlaze made repeated requests seeking comment on the footage Wednesday evening, but never received a response.
Another video published by TheBlaze showed officers using great effort to keep barriers in place, but they were overcome by the mob who forced their way past law enforcement.
In a separate statement Wednesday, McConnell praised the Capitol police officers "who stood bravely in harm's way during yesterday's failed insurrection," before saying that the events of the day "represented a massive failure of institutions, protocols, and planning that are supposed to protect the first branch of our federal government."
The Senate majority leader called for thorough investigations and "significant changes" before concluding:
"The ultimate blame for yesterday lies with the unhinged criminals who broke down doors, trampled our nation's flag, fought with law enforcement, and tried to disrupt our democracy, and with those who incited them. But this fact does not and will not preclude our addressing the shocking failures in the Capitol's security posture and protocols."

So here is the “Reported” facts : Ashli Babbit was Shot once in the NECK. Yeah, again, NOT BUYING IT. There is NOT a lot of room in the Neck, being Shot with a .45 cal. at close range in the Neck is going to be VERY MESSY, lots and lots of Blood, spraying and gushing. But the video shows very little Blood. Like a couple of small blood packets or blood capsules.
Let’s look at the GUN, look at the Shooter. The Shooter points the gun at the girl , BUT then swings the gun away, facing straight down the hallway and fires it. The gun was never pointed UP towards her head/neck.
Ok, shooter fires one shot. Ashli then gently falls backwards landing on her padded backpack. Being shot a close range with a .45 cal would cause more reaction then letting go of the window frame and falling backwards.
Ok, Shooter is a Capital Police Officer, wearing gloves, WHY DID HE LEAVE THE SCENE ? A police officer involved in a shooting DOES NOT leave the scene.
Ok, how about Ashli Climbing. Ashli is climbing through a broken window into the halls of Congress, BUT Ashli is surrounded by Police Officers behind her YET, NOT ONE TRYS TO STOP HER 🤔
Ashli is Shot, these police immediately take control but NOT ONE removes clothing, Not one attempts to assess the wound , No tracheotomy, No CPR. What these police do is yell “Get Back” even when a “citizen medic” offers.
Where is the Crime Scene. Someone gets shot and dies , that’s a Crime Scene.
And how about the guy in the black coat. He was conveniently BLOCKING the Staircase Pillar / Banister when Ashli fell backwards. Good thing because this Pillar is made of Marble and Ashli could have hit her head. But after the man in the Black Coats blocks Ashli’s fall , he leaves.
Again, where is all the Blood. If you are shot in the neck with a .45 , you are going to bleed A LOT.
