We suspect his decision to send infected patients back to nursing homes, which is believed to have contributed to thousands of avoidable deaths, might have something to do with that.

 

But even if it wasn't for this depressing reality, Cuomo's latest attempt to wrest back the national spotlight by positioning himself as a "leader" in the vaccine rollout is already going awry. Over the weekend, the NY governor announced that he would be signing an executive order threatening to fine hospitals up to $1MM for doling out vaccine doses to patients who don't fall under the state's 'priority' criteria (a group that includes nursing home residents and drug addicts housed in state-run rehab facilities). He insisted that the measure was intended to combat economic inequality, and ensure that the wealthy and privileged didn't manage to finagle early access to the vaccine.

 

Instead, critics lambasted the governor for creating more roadblocks and oversight at a time when NY, like pretty much every other state in the US (with the exception of a few standouts like, uh, West Virginia), was already way behind in meeting its vaccine targets.

 

So on Monday, the governor revealed during a midday press conference that, in an effort to speed the process along, he would also fine hospitals for failing to meet their vaccination targets. Going forward, the governor declared, hospitals must use all of their doses within seven days of receiving them (presumably to avoid any being thrown out). He also blamed the slowness in vaccinating all the state's nursing home residents on the federal government, and claimed the state would be stepping in.

Of course, government bureaucrats and politicians, together with powerful special interests, will decide who are, and are not, stakeholders, what is in stakeholders’ interest, and what steps corporations must take to maximize stakeholder value. People’s own wishes are not the priority.

 

The Great Reset will dramatically expand the surveillance state via real-time tracking. It will also mandate that people receive digital certificates in order to travel and even technology implanted in their bodies to monitor them.

 

Included in Schwab’s proposal for surveillance is his idea to use brain scans and nanotechnology to predict, and if necessary, prevent, individuals’ future behavior. This means that anyone whose brain is β€œscanned” could have his Second Amendment and other rights violated because a government bureaucrat determines the individual is going to commit a crime. The system of tracking and monitoring could be used to silence those expressing β€œdangerous” political views, such as that the Great Reset violates our God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

 

The Great Reset involves a huge expansion of the welfare state via a universal basic income program. This can help ensure compliance with the Great Reset’s authoritarian measures. This is the latest version of the fairy tale that deficits don’t matter as long as the Federal Reserve monetizes the debt.

 

The Great Reset ultimately will fail for the same reason all other attempts by government to control the market fail. As Ludwig von Mises showed, government interference in the marketplace distorts the price system. Prices are how information about the value of goods and services related to other goods and services is conveyed to market actors. Government interference in the marketplace disturbs the signals sent by prices, leading to an oversupply of certain goods and services and an undersupply of others.

 

The lockdowns show the dangers of government control over the economy and our personal lives. Lockdowns have increased unemployment, caused many small businesses to close, and led to more substance abuse, domestic violence, and suicide. We are told the lockdowns are ordered because of a virus that poses no great danger to a very large percentage of the American public. Yet, instead of adopting a different approach, politicians are doubling down on the failed policies of masks and lockdowns. Meanwhile, big tech companies, which are already often acting as partners of government, silence anyone who questions the official line regarding the threat of coronavirus or the effectiveness of lockdowns, masks, and vaccines.

 

The disastrous response to Covid is just the latest example of how those who give up liberty for safety or health will end up unfree, unsafe, and unhealthy. Instead of a Great Reset of authoritarianism, we need a great rebirth of liberty!

Somebody like Dr. Anthony Fauci, for example, can receive instant virality yet thousands of scientists and experts in the field who disagree seem to be ignored, censored and never really given the light of day to share their research, data, and opinions.

 

The truth is, lockdown measures may not only be unnecessary and useless for combating COVID, but they are also having other detrimental consequences that could be worse than the virus itself.

 

This was recently expressed by Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, from the Stanford University School of Medicine in an article written for The Hill titled β€œFacts, not fear, will stop the pandemic.”

β€œStay home, stay safe.” That’s what we’re told. At first, it was temporary: Staying apart would slow the spread, flatten the curve, preserve hospital capacity and the energy of our exhausted healthcare workers. And we followed along, believing that staying apart would keep us together.

 

To date, many bars, restaurants, and cafes are still closed or have capacity limits and some have closed permanently. Border closures and travel restrictions prevent people from congregating with family for holidays or taking vacations. Even neighborly gatherings are subject to curfews or bans. Then, there is the tragedy of loved ones dying alone in hospitals or long-term care facilities due to restrictions.

  1. Won’t let you go out without permission

 

The government has provided lists of what they consider essential for maintaining critical infrastructure operations. Are you an essential worker?

 

While it may seem that your movements are not restricted in most places within the US, there are many other countries where going out means possible abuse by police and authorities for arbitrary violations or fines for breaking lockdown orders.

 

In France, citizens need papers to validate their reason for being out. In one of the toughest lockdowns seen in Australia this past year, 3,000 tenants were forcibly kept from leaving their apartments – separating partners and children from parents. These continued breaches of public trust will undoubtedly spread as reports of human rights abuses pour in.

  1. Tell you what to wear

 

In March, Dr Fauci told 60 Minutes that people should not be wearing masks:

 

The masks are important for someone who is infected, to prevent them from infecting someone else. […] Right now in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks. […] There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.

Voluntary downloads of contact-tracing apps, such as the French government’s TousAntiCovid app, have been encouraged by states. Others have been more forceful in active monitoring.

 

For instance, Taiwanese resident Milo Hsieh woke up to two police officers knocking on his door after his phone’s battery ran out for 15 minutes. The dead battery triggered an automatic notification of potential quarantine breach, prompting authorities to send warning text messages and (missed) calls before conducting an in-person check.

They did this to us at a tea party rally.

Blocked us all off from the area speakers were at and then took pictures of the 300 people that could fit in the area they "allowed us to be in" while 25,000 of us were scattered 1/2 a mile away. The local paper took the picture from above and it looked pathetic as if it had no support.
