"It Was All A Lie": Biden-Linked WHO Adviser Says COVID-19 'Likely' Leaked From Wuhan Lab

by Tyler Durden - Saturday, Jan 23, 2021 - 13:25

A World Health Organization (WHO) adviser who previously worked under President Clinton and then-Senator Joe Biden has broken his silence over the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jamie Metzl - who served as Deputy Staff Director of the Foreign Relations Committee under Biden (2001-2003), after serving on the National Security Council (1997-1999) and the State Department (1999-2001) under Clinton, waited until three days after Biden's inauguration to tell the Toronto Sun that he thinks COVID-19 was most likely an accidental lab leak in Wuhan.

"There’s no irrefutable evidence," said the Kansas-born Metzl, a senior Atlantic Council fellow who was appointed to the WHO expert advisory committee on human genome editing in 2019. "There’s just more evidence and as more evidence arrives, the case for accidental lab leak, in my view, increases."

More from Metzl's interview with the Sun (emphasis ours):

What about the original theory that this all started in a wet market in Wuhan?

That was a lie. And the Chinese government knew very early on that that was a lie. And so in the face of overwhelming evidence in May of last year, the Chinese government shifted its position.

Do you get the idea of scary viruses being created in a lab may seem a little sci-fi?

It may feel like sci-fi to people but what’s happening is sci. There is a field of study called “gain of function” research, which is highly controversial in which some scientists amplify the virility of viruses. We know that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was involved in gain of function research on bat coronaviruses.

Is it because this specifically started in China that we still don’t know how COVID-19 started?

If there had been an outbreak in Congo or some country in Africa and that country, in the earliest days of the pandemic, prevented World Health Organization investigators from going onto the scene of the outbreak, for nearly a month, the world would have gone berserk.

Will a change of the U.S. administration help find an answer?

Biden will be tougher on China than President Trump because President Biden is very smart and strategic and he understands that American power and American strength doesn’t rest on bluster, it rests on principles, it rests on partnerships, and alliances and accountability. And the Trump administration unfortunately gave China a pass by over politicizing the question of the origin of the virus by alienating America’s partners and allies.

    • *

All of this begs a simple question; if a senior Atlantic Council fellow who operated at high levels of government under Democratic presidents is suddenly 'coming out' with the Wuhan lab leak theory, three days after Biden's inauguration, is the official narrative about to change?

After Brexit, Ireland and France Cut Out the Middleman – Britain

Reuters 22 Jan 2021

By Richard Lough and Padraic Halpin

CHERBOURG, France/DUBLIN, Jan 22 (Reuters) – From his office overlooking Cherbourg docks, general manager Yannick Millet points to trailers destined for Ireland that belong to Amazon and FedEx, new customers and a signal of a potential big shift in post-Brexit trade.

Confronted by red tape and delays after Britain’s messy exit from the European Union, Irish traders are shipping goods directly to and from European ports, shunning the once-speedier route through Britain.

“You see the shift in supply chains right here,” he said.

All five operators connecting Ireland to mainland Europe have increased ferry services in the past nine months, with some bringing forward planned sailings and others moving larger ships away from quieter British routes to meet new demand.

Millet forecast Cherbourg would handle 9,000 trucks in January, equivalent to almost a quarter of what passed through the French port annually before the COVID-19 crisis.

For decades, the land bridge offered Irish traders the swiftest, most reliable route to continental Europe. It involves a short sea crossing between Dublin and Holyhead in Wales and then a hop between Dover and Calais. Every year 150,000 lorries would use the route.

But post-Brexit paperwork and delays in customs clearance are snarling up the process, adding hours or days to journeys and ratcheting up costs. Many companies are switching routes.

“This is a game-changer,” said Chris Smyth, commercial director at Ireland’s Perennial Freight. Demand was huge for freight space to ship to Cherbourg, Dunkirk, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge, he added.

Cherbourg’s business before Brexit had been evenly split between Ireland and Britain. Now, the port would orient itself towards Ireland, Millet said.

“I thought traffic would double but it has tripled,” he said. “The question now is whether the traffic volumes we see today will hold in the months to come.”

AVOIDING THE MIDDLEMAN

Stena Line, the largest Irish Sea operator, has doubled its services on the booming Rosslare-Cherbourg route, temporarily canceling some sailings to Britain after freight volumes fell 60% in the first half of January.

Irish Ferries has deployed a larger vessel out of Dublin and planned to add more weekly rotations next month, the Port of Cherbourg said. Brittany Ferries also brought forward a planned sailing linking France and Ireland.

Danish operator DFDS said the freight ferries plying its new 23-hour crossing from Rosslare to Dunkirk six days a week were “pretty much full.” Route director Aidan Coffey said capturing 30% of “land bridge” traffic would make the route viable and DFDS might soon add up to two more sailings per week.

“We’re blown away by the demand,” Coffey said.

No one knows if the shift is permanent.

The Irish Maritime Development Office, a government shipping promotion body, said a return to pre-Brexit logistic chains would depend on the speed of customs formalities along the land bridge and that ferries linking Ireland and mainland Europe could not replicate its volumes.

Eddie Burke, a senior official at Ireland’s transport department, said the route through Britain would undoubtedly come back into play again.

Ferry operators were taking decisions on capacity week by week, said Ole Bockmann, Stena’s operations chief in Cherbourg. Reverting to land bridge routes was simple, he said. “We just take the ships off and go back to the old system.”

RENAISSANCE

It gives ports like Cherbourg and Ireland’s Rosslare a narrow window to persuade traders that the longer sea crossing between Ireland and mainland Europe is commercially viable for just-in-time logistics.

Eighteen months ago, Rosslare on the southeastern tip of Ireland was struggling. Its traffic volumes were stagnant while rivals were enjoying a 10-year run of growth.

Now its general manager, Glenn Carr, is fending off complaints about the number trucks passing through after freight traffic increased 500% in the first half of January.

Carr said the old perception that direct crossings from Ireland were too long for fresh food and just-in-time supply chains was changing. Many of the companies that had switched from the land bridge would remain, he forecast.

“I was talking to some multinationals only this week and the question they asked me was, ‘Glenn, are you putting on more services?'”

An 18-hour ferry ride away, Cherbourg port’s Millet said his immediate priority was responding to shipping companies demands for better restaurants and washrooms for truckers and ironing out quayside glitches in the loading of extra vessels.

“Brexit has for us been an opportunity to rethink our port,” he said.

BOOM: Trust In Mainstream Media Just Hit An All-Time Low

by JonathanDavis

22 Jan 2021

Supporters of former President Donald were well aware of his feelings about the ‘mainstream’ media: They are enemies of the people and they routinely demonstrated that every single day of his term.

But what about the rest of the country – how do those Americans feel about the media?

Apparently, a majority of them are equally distrustful of those perfumed, blow-dried purveyors of propaganda, according to Axios.

The outlet reports:

Trust in traditional media has declined to an all-time low, and many news professionals are determined to do something about it.

Why it matters: Faith in society’s central institutions, especially in government and the media, is the glue that holds society together. That glue was visibly dissolving a decade ago, and has now, for many millions of Americans, disappeared entirely.

By the numbers: For the first time ever, fewer than half of all Americans have trust in traditional media, according to data from Edelman’s annual trust barometer shared exclusively with Axios. Trust in social media has hit an all-time low of 27%.

Here are some more figures:

— 56 percent of those surveyed agreed with this statement: “Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.”

— 58 percent believe that “most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.”

— After the election Edelmann re-surveyed Americans and the results were worse: Just 57 percent of Democrats trust the media (which is extremely ironic given the ‘mainstream’ media’s hard-left bent), while just 18 percent of Republicans did.

And make no mistake about these dismal figures: The media did this to themselves.

Oh, the talking heads are blaming Trump’s ‘demeanor’ and ‘lies’ and general ‘combativeness’ for claiming they had no choice but to cover him ‘differently.’

But that’s a lie. And a cop-out. Obama lied every bit as much if not more than Trump (who didn’t really lie so much as he just liked to embellish); the difference was Obama got a pass.

And the American people are obviously smart enough to know that difference.

Notes Axios (itself a left-wing outlet): “Mistrust of media is now a central part of many Americans’ personal identity — an article of faith that they weren’t argued into and can’t be argued out of.”

U.K. university creates protections for 'student sex workers'

In December, the University of Leicester unveiled the Student Sex Work Policy, a list of directives that school administrators will impose on students and staff to mitigate the “social stigma directed at sex workers.”

The guidelines, which created a new protected class of students at the University of Leicester, will, college officials said, “ensure that any students who are sex workers are positively supported” by the university.

The campus-wide protections for student sex workers come at a time when the number of British students reporting to have engaged in prostitution to pay their bills has doubled.

While prostitution is not legal at the federal level in the United States, some American cities, such as Washington, D.C., have begun taking steps to decriminalize sex work. Vice President Kamala Harris, as a presidential candidate in 2019, was asked whether she believes the U.S. should decriminalize sex work. She responded by stating, "I think so, I do."

Biden Is Blundering Us Into World War 3

This Is So Bad

The Joe Biden administration is blundering America into a World War 3 scenario as tensions rise globally. We are looking at a WW3 in which the regime controlling America does not represent the American people, there is zero national cohesion, and there are no clear objectives except the profit-oriented destabilization goals and petty rivalries of the Oligarchs. Such a war is not winnable for the American government, and could spark a massive bipartisan antiwar movement to challenge the bellicose decisions of the Biden regime.

Biden is backing the anti-Vladimir Putin opposition effort in Russia while moving American troops into Syria. Putin is likewise moving Russian troops into Syria to engage in a staredown with the Americans. The Islamic State (ISIS) is back, committing terrorism in Iraq. China is flexing on Taiwan in the South China Sea, sparking U.S. warship entry into the region. Israel is bombing Syria. And Americans are beginning to realize that the globalist Biden regime is leading us blindly, cravenly into potential disaster.

Bombings in Baghdad

Dozens of civilians were killed or injured at Tayaran Square in Baghdad, Iraq on Thursday after a pair of suicide bombings. “One (terrorist) came, fell to the ground and started complaining ‘my stomach is hurting’ and he pressed the detonator in his hand. It exploded immediately. People were torn to pieces,” reported an observer. Reuters and other news agencies reported that the Islamic State, aka ISIS, took responsibility for the deadly terrorist attack.

South China Sea

Meanwhile, China is not happy that the Biden regime sent the USS Theodore Roosevelt and three warships into the South China Sea. Taiwan said that China moved into its airspace with fighter jets.

“The United States frequently sends aircraft and vessels into the South China Sea to flex its muscles. This is not conducive to peace and stability in the region,” stated a spokesman for the Chicoms.

Everyone in politics knows that Biden is easily manipulated by the Chinese Communists, who quietly set up a military base in the Bahamas less than 200 miles off the U.S. coast. Look for more erratic and concerning moves from the Biden administration with respect to China as the world situation grows more alarming by the day.

Mastercard is blasted for 'greed' and 'opportunism' by charging British card users FIVE TIMES the fees on items ordered from EU then blaming Brexit

Mastercard is hiking fees for UK shoppers buying from EU-based companies

The European Union brought in a cap in 2015 amid fears over hidden fees

Mastercard says the cap does not apply to some transactions following Brexit

Payments between UK and the EEA are now 'inter-regional', the company saysMastercard has been accused of 'opportunism' and 'greed' for increasing fees for British shoppers using debit or credit cards to buy from EU-based companies five-fold.

Visa and Mastercard levy 'interchange' fees on behalf of banks for card payments that used their networks.

The European Union brought in a cap in 2015 amid fears over hidden fees costing companies hundreds of millions of euros, meaning higher prices for consumers.

Mastercard has now revealed that the cap does not apply to some transactions following Brexit, as payments between Britain and the European Economic Area are now technically 'inter-regional', the FT reports.

The company will raise its credit card charge from Britain to the EU from 0.3 per cent of the transaction's value up to 1.5 per cent from October 15, with debit card payment fees jumping from 0.2 per cent to 1.15 per cent. The change will reportedly be a benefit for British banks and card issuers rather than Mastercard, but it has sparked a backlash from companies who rely on online payments.

Chair of the all-party parliamentary group on Fair Business Banking, Kevin Hollinrake, said the change was 'alarming'.

He added: 'This smacks of opportunism and I would urge the regulators to step in as a matter of urgency to ensure that financial institutions do not use Brexit as an opportunity to hike up costs that consumers will ultimately bear.'

Head of policy at the Coalition for a Digital Economy, Joel Gladwin, said: 'Some people might put this change down to Brexit, but it is actually just greed. It is well within the power of the card schemes to make merchants' lives easy and keep things operating as they were pre-2021.

After 440,000 Americans are Dead — Facebook and American Journal of Medicine Admit Their Stand on HCQ was Wrong — These People Should be Prosecuted!

By Jim Hoft

Published January 28, 2021 at 11:49am

Back in August 2020 we wrote this on treating the coronavirus–

The liberal mainstream media can’t hide this truth from the American public forever.

The latest international testing of hydroxychloroquine treatment of coronavirus shows countries that had early use of the drug had a 79% lower mortality rate than countries that banned the use of the safe malaria drug.

This means that Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, the CDC, the liberal fake news media and the tech giants have been pushing a lie that has had deadly consequences!

America had lost (reportedly) over 150,000 lives at that time.

Today that number is at 440,000.

We now know that that number could have been lowered significantly if HCQ use would have been promoted in the US!

A new study posted in the American Journal of Medicine in January found that early treatment of coronavirus patients with hydroxychloroquine lowered the mortality rate for the disease.

The study found that immediate use of HCQ, while the patient was still at home, showed significant benefits.

This is just the latest study that shows the effectiveness of HCQ in treating the coronavirus.

For the past several months the website c19study.com has been tracking the HCQ-coronavirus studies.

Also today the Facebook Oversight Board announced it was overturning a previous case on the effectiveness of HCQ.

Facebook’s previously removed a post on the use of hydroxychloroquine in France which it claimed, “contributes to the risk of imminent… physical harm.”

According to c19study.com there have been 237 studies, 171 of which were peer reviewed that show 67% of patients improved in early treatment trials.

Today Facebook announced this was a mistake.

'''How many hundreds of thousands of victims were killed due to Dr. Fauci, the CDC and the tech giants’ false claims on hydroxychloroquine?

The jihad against HCQ was to get back at Trump. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are dead today!

When will these people face justice?'''

Stop endless referendum talk, UK PM Johnson tells Scotland

By Andrew MacAskill, Guy Faulconbridge

LONDON (Reuters) - Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Scottish nationalists on Thursday to stop talking “endlessly” about a new independence referendum, saying most people wanted to see Britain “bouncing back more strongly together” after the COVID-19 pandemic eases.

On a trip to Scotland to try to stem growing support for another referendum, Johnson opted for a blunt message, saying independence supporters had their chance in 2014 in a vote they had agreed at the time was “a once-in-a-generation event”.

The bonds that tie England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland together in a $3 trillion economy have been severely strained by both Britain’s exit from the European Union and Johnson’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

Opinion surveys indicate a majority of Scots would now favour breaking apart the 314-year-old union between England and Scotland.

But Johnson, whose unpopularity runs deep in Scotland according to opinion polls, suggested he was sticking to his position of not approving another referendum, which the Scottish National Party needs to hold a legal vote.

“I don’t think that the right thing to do is to talk endlessly about another referendum when I think what the people of the country and the people of Scotland want in particular is to fight this pandemic,” Johnson said at a laboratory just outside Edinburgh.

“I don’t see the advantage of getting lost in pointless constitutional wrangling when after all we had a referendum not so very long ago,” he said.

London Bridge Jihadi’s Widow Granted 15K in Legal Aid, as Victim’s Families Denied Funding

The British taxpayer has shelled out over £15,000 to the widow of the mastermind behind the 2017 London Bridge terror attack, while the families of victims were denied similar financial support.

Zahrah Rehman — the widow of Islamic State-inspired Pakistani-born husband Khuram Butt — was given £15,660 in legal aid for the inquest into the death of her husband and his two jihadi accomplices. She was provided with a group of stand-funded solicitors as well as a QC during the inquiry.

While Rehman was given taxpayer support, the families of the victims were not afforded an automatic right to be legally represented during the inquiries, The Mirror reported. Police shot dead all three jihadists at the scene of the terror attack; the newspaper explained that legal aid is often offered to the relatives of those killed by the state.

James Hodder — the boyfriend of Australian nurse Kirsty Boden, who was stabbed to death during the attack while trying to save other victims — said: “I’m sure she [Ms Rehman] needed financial aid quite rightly, but so did we. What’s the difference?”

“I would demand a fully transparent justification for why the attackers’ families are supported by the state but none of the victims’ families were given a single penny,” he said.

He concluded: “Representation at the inquest was essential. The inquest involves incredibly complex and niche areas of law.

“Without a trained legal team you stand no chance of being able to scrutinise proceedings and ensure lessons can be learnt. You simply can’t engage with the inquest without legal support.”

Aside from funding the legal expenses of the terrorist’s widow, the public also spent some £781,784 to represent the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service.

The Ministry of Justice said: “Bereaved families at inquests have a special status which means that the coroner can ask questions on their behalf to help ensure they get the answers they need.”

During the inquest, Zahrah Rehman claimed that she was unaware of her jihadi husband’s terroristic intentions, saying: “We were living together. But it was almost as if we were living different lives.

“I knew it was a possibility that he wanted to go to Syria… but he never told me that he hates this country and wanted to attack this country.”

As Govt Eyes Tax Rises, British Taxpayer Burden is Already at 70-Year High

The burden on the British taxpayer has hit levels not seen in 70 years, yet the Treasury secretary is considering tax hikes to make up for the massive budget shortfalls incurred during the Chinese coronavirus crisis and the ensuing lockdowns.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is reportedly mulling tax hikes in response to soaring government debt, which have already reached 100 per cent of GDP. The new debt, largely incurred through furlough payments to workers forced to stay at home, could rise above £400 billion this year.

The Chancellor is said to be considering increasing the capital gains tax from 20 per cent to up to 45 per cent, an increase on fuel duties, and raising corporation tax from 19 to 24 per cent — a raid on individuals and businesses to pay for the government’s coronavirus lockdown spending spree.

If Sunak were to introduce the tax hikes, the notionally Conservative government under Prime Minister Boris Johnson would usher in a level of taxation unseen in the UK since the post World War II era under Clement Atlee’s Labour government, according to the Taxpayers’ Alliance, The Telegraph reported.

The chief executive of the low-tax campaign group, John O’Connell, warned that a capital gains tax would adversely affect the prospects of an economic recovery.

“Capital gains tax is a double tax that harms investment, which is precisely what we should avoid if we want to kick-start growth and help create jobs,” he said.

Adding: “The sustained tax burden is now the highest it’s been since the country was recovering from the Second World War 70 years ago, and any tax rises in the next Budget will put that figure even higher.

“In these difficult times, the Chancellor should give hard-pressed families and businesses a respite from taxes, offer a rescue to struggling sectors and try to revive the economy.”

While the 2019 Conservative Party manifesto pledged not to increase VAT, inheritance, and National Insurance taxes, there was no pledge to keep corporation or capital gains taxes down.

Soaring Taxes on Their Way to Pay for Britain's Mammoth Corona Debt https://t.co/kepYbCbvwg

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) January 23, 2021

Aside from increasing taxes, the Mr Sunak is also reportedly looking to cut spending in the government’s March budget, as opposed to the infrastructure spending push favoured by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

From April to December of last year, government borrowing rose by some £271 billion, with £34 billion borrowed in December, alone, the third most for any month in British history and the most expensive since the start of the pandemic.

Despite the rising debt, borrowing money will remain cheap for the generally robust UK economy, however, reflecting the view of global investors that the UK government is a low-risk debt to lenders. The S&P credit rating agency forecast that the UK will pay less on its debt than it is currently, despite the rising costs of the economic shutdown.

A sovereign debt specialist for the agency, Frank Gill, said: “Our calculation is that the average rate that the UK is paying on its debt today is around 1.8 per cent. That compares to a little over 3 per cent in 2014, so the cost of funding really is very low and we expect it to remain well below the UK’s growth performance over the next few years.”

“The likelihood is that they’ll probably pay even less on their debt in three years’ time than they do today,” he added.

Last week, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that unemployment in the UK hit five per cent for the first time in over four years, with more than 200,000 people losing their jobs in the three months up to November.

In total, some 828,000 fewer people were employed per company payrolls as of December compared to February 2020, the month before lockdown measures were introduced.

London to Resume Trading Swiss Shares After Losing EU Billions

The City of London can tout a rare benefit of Brexit this week, when Swiss shares such as Novartis AG and Nestle SA are expected to be readmitted to trading in London. The return comes after an 18-month hiatus triggered by Switzerland protecting its markets in a stand-off with the European Union. The U.K. is looking to embrace other partners after jettisoning ties with the world’s biggest trading bloc.

The swift reintroduction reflects political and economic imperatives, with the U.K. government under pressure to show tangible benefits of a departure that’s been dominated by a steady flow of news around the gradual diminution of the City of London as a financial center. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak met with his Swiss counterpart last week to hasten the deepening of financial services ties in the wake of Brexit. “This will be an interesting development,” said Robert Barnes, head of LSE’s Turquoise venue. “The extraordinarily quick move towards equivalence between Switzerland and U.K. sends a positive message to the world, promoting the growth of capital markets.”

London Stock Exchange Group Plc, Cboe Europe and Nomura Holdings Inc. are among the companies planning to restart Swiss trading in the U.K. capital.

Still, it’s hardly a like-for-like swap. Before Switzerland lost equivalence from the EU, London averaged 1.3 billion euros ($1.6 billion) in Swiss share trades per day. This compares with 6.3 billion euros of EU share trading that left London overnight after Jan. 1. In 2018, U.K. financial services exports to Switzerland, excluding the insurance and pension fund industry, was 2.5 billion pounds, compared to 21.2 billion pounds to the EU, according to the Office for National Statistics.

“It’s a little bit of a pyrrhic victory,” given what London has lost, said Niki Beattie, founder at Market Structure Partners. Allying with Switzerland may also risk further alienating the EU. It underlines the U.K.’s divergence from the bloc, a shift unlikely to boost the City of London’s bid to be granted untrammeled market access for financial services. The Swiss experience highlights the fraught nature of equivalence negotiations with Europe.

Switzerland is no further along the road to winning Brussels’ seal of approval 18 months after the EU withdrew its equivalence stamp. Switzerland retaliated by banning trading in about 200 Swiss shares on venues inside the 27-nation bloc. If the EU were to grant the U.K. equivalence, one condition might be the U.K. rescinding its Swiss decision, according to Beattie. For now, the return of Swiss trading is an emblem of the trade-offs inherent to Brexit.

“Whereas the loss of EU share trading was an own goal for the U.K. this is more of a free kick, definitely not a goal,” said Alasdair Haynes, chief executive officer at Aquis Exchange.

Exxon Mobil posts first annual loss in 40 years

Exxon cut up to 15% of its workforce and delayed oil and gas projects.

Top U.S. oil producer Exxon Mobil on Tuesday posted its first annual loss as a public company as the COVID-19 pandemic hammered energy prices and it reduced the value of its shale gas properties by more than $20 billion in the fourth quarter.

Exxon cut up to 15% of its workforce and delayed oil and gas projects after accepting oil prices could remain below $60 a barrel for years. It added $22 billion to its debt last year to cover its dividend and project spending. The company reported a net annual loss of $22.44 billion for 2020, compared with a full-year profit of $14.34 billion in 2019.

Exxon posted four straight quarters of losses in 2020 and is under fire from activist investors pushing for board changes and a better strategy for a global transition to cleaner fuels. On Tuesday it named former Petronas President Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin to its board of directors, and said it was in discussions with other candidates. Other oil majors are also under pressure as pandemic-related travel restrictions cloud fuel demand and spur cost-cutting at energy firms.

Rival BP plunged to its first annual loss in a decade on Tuesday while Chevron on Friday fell to the first annual loss since 2016. Royal Dutch Shell reports financial results Thursday and Total SA reports next week.

Polish Government to Breitbart: Big Tech’s ‘Cancel Culture’ Is Bolshevik, Not Democratic

“Cancel culture aims to make people afraid to express their opinions” and Big Tech is working with the far left to promote this environment which has more in common with the methods of Soviet Russia than modern democracies, a Polish government minister has told Breitbart London.

Sebastian Kaleta is Poland’s deputy minister for justice and the man tasked with shepherding a new law meant to give protections to Polish citizens from censorious and over-powerful Silicon Valley big-tech firms. He told Breitbart London that Poland has real concerns about cancel culture and is legislating against it.

Kaleta said that while the worst excesses of political correctness has yet to be felt in socially conservative Poland, his government was watching developments elsewhere — including where political correctness had developed into a full hard-left culture — with concern.

Kaleta made clear that Poland’s 50 years of living under Soviet communist occupation and then rule had left the nation cautious about modern developments in censorship — something he said other nations which had never suffered under communism appeared to be blind to. He said: “The pressure from the far left has developed from soft political correctness into a much harsher phase, that of cancel culture… [it is] very worrying, and is more reminiscent of bolshevik standards than democratic ones.”

Observing the dangerous path that many Western countries are now walking, Kaleta offered a lesson from Poland’s recent past when “reeducation camps” were the norm for deviants and those who criticised the prevailing orthodoxy. He continued: “Cancel culture aims to make people afraid to express their opinions.

“The signals from the left are clear — if you do not agree with us and you criticise us, the ‘system’ we have created will not only get you fired, but it will also limit your access to certain services and products.”

Ultimately, Kaleta said, the “neo-Marxists” calling the shots within cultural institutions like the mainstream media and Silicon Valley were using “methods which are closer to those of Soviet Russia than social democracy”. He cited the case of now-cancelled, but until recently the most successful author on earth, J.K. Rowling, as an example of the power of that cancel culture, noting simply: “Slowly but surely, the revolution devours its own children.”

The comments to Breitbart London come as Kaleta and the Polish government introduce a new law to protect Polish citizens from censorship at the hands of a remote Silicon Valley elite. Under the new plan, Poles who found their accounts and posts blocked, deleted, or limited for messages which offended Big Tech morals but which did not fall foul of Polish law could appeal for redress.

Poland’s prospective parliament-appointed free speech board could demand social media networks reinstate the accounts of wronged Poles. Poland could levy fines of up to 50 million zloty ($14 million) per offence in cases where they refused to comply. Ultimately, he explained: “Freedom of speech needs to be defended from censorship.”

”Daughter of African kleptocrat has £13m London mansion: How we discovered it” (Dos Santos’s daughter)-https://www.financeuncovered.org/investigations/isabel-dos-santos-angola-london-mansion-home-kleptocrat/. Below are a few excerpts. I recommend that you read it in full.

A publicly aired planning dispute over a proposed west London house extension has inadvertently revealed the billionaire daughter of an African kleptocrat to be the owner of a £13 million mansion in one of Britain’s most secretive gated communities.

The row, contained in papers lodged with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), concerned the grand designs of Isabel dos Santos, the glamorous daughter of Angola’s former president.

A regular fixture on the jet-set social scene, Dos Santos, 46, presents herself as a self-made entrepreneur but there have been questions about the source of her wealth for years.

And while it was long rumoured she and her art collector husband had invested in London, were it not for a neighbour’s objection to plans to bulldoze a house in an exclusive gated community in Kensington – and rebuild it as a four-storey “iceberg” home with an underground swimming pool and massage room, her ownership would have remained a secret.

The property was bought without a mortgage via an anonymous company registered in an offshore tax haven.

Simon Taylor, a co-founder of non-profit investigators Global Witness who spent several years in the late 1990s digging into the Dos Santos regime, said: “The fact that this property appears to be owned secretly by Isabel dos Santos, through a company based in a tax haven, should raise all the red flags for corruption risk.

The NCA estimates that more than £100 billion of criminal funds are laundered through the UK each year. But ever since investigators were given powers last year to freeze assets using “Unexplained Wealth Orders” (UWOs), only a handful of orders have been obtained.

When not rubbing shoulders with pop star Nicki Minaj, actress Lindsay Lohan, and disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein (pictured), she can be seen on her Instagram account holding forth at lavish symposiums for international investors.

The country is ranked 165 out of 180 on the latest “Corruption Perceptions Index” produced by Transparency International. According to a report by the anti-corruption organisation, “a deeply entrenched patronage system” arose under President Dos Santos, which benefitted members of the “Futungo”, a secretive cabal of senior politicians and their families who “control much of the opaque financial dealings of the state, using a significant proportion of government resources outside the state budget in a parallel system of state revenue deployment […], enjoy unchecked access to state resources and are widely suspected of using public resources for their personal gain.”

Meanwhile, a third of Angolans get by on less than two dollars a day.

Isabel dos Santos amassed an estimated $2.3 billion fortune in the form of large shares in Angola’s key industries, including cement, banking, telecoms, and diamonds.

But when journalists at Forbes magazine investigated how she made it, they claimed it had largely been derived from her political connections; she would emerge as the beneficiary of lucrative state contracts decreed by her father, or receive chunks of companies wanting to invest in Angola.

It is understood that this is just one of a number of “super prime” mansions she owns in London.

UK Land Registry title deeds record the owner as Wilkson Properties Limited, a company incorporated in the Isle of Man. The British Crown dependency has resisted attempts by British MPs to open up to the public a register of who really owns and controls its companies. But last month they backed down and promised to do so by 2023.

José Eduardo dos Santos announced his retirement as Angola’s president in March 2016. Three months later, he appointed his daughter Isabel chairwoman of Sonangol, the Angolan state-owned oil company.

She was fired from the post in November the following year by the new president João Lourenço, and summoned by prosecutors in mid 2018 to answer questions about transactions she approved at the parastatal that investigators say are suspicious – which she denies. But she ignored the summons, and left for Europe where she now lives in exile.

He [Luaty Beirão] said: “We know who created this situation. It wasn’t just the fact that we have a 27 year long civil war. After the war ended the oil boomed and the money just disappeared.

“More than half of our budget is for debt service. We’re not even paying off the debt. We’re just paying off interest. With more than half of our national budget!”

The efficacy of Q:

Countering corrupt narrative warfare influence against YOU, by causing you to stop, question & think, and giving you a reason to investigate.

The People needed a reason to question the control of corrupt and deceitful authority.

A strange digital phenomenon/ anomaly makes people ask themselves lots of questions and is worth investigating.

By creating a reason for you to justify opting for online research over that TV show you’re hooked on and binge watching after a long day at work ->which inevitably led to startling discoveries and uncanny connections ->which opposed a strongly established narrative you believed was true - your mind essentially went, WTF is this!? GTFO! <or maybe you’re a cool guy and thought, “interesting, must know more”but either way, you became motivated to find out, to learn and investigate further.

So much so, that thousands became OSINT experts to investigate facts and determine the truth based on extensive research that was not “Google” approved.

Deep research ultimately leads you to different historical and more-accurate information (normally buried by Tech oligarchy or purposefully not taught/discussed in globally funded academic institutions intended to educate the masses) you learn to filter for factual information over Big Tech AI “recommended” information, and attain a higher level of self-education.

This practice is of self-education in the Information Age, when a goldmine of knowledge exists online if you care enough to learn, and decide to filter information differently than Big Tech AI traditionally does FOR you,

will ultimately increase your knowledge, awareness and sense of judgement on the reality of the status quo.

This improves decision-making faculties regarding true-false- ambiguous information, ie: the meaning of many things (ideas, politics, people, laws, events etc) based on your own judgement - and not that of traditional “authorities” like Facebook, Google, Government Officials or other “Leaders.”

The Oligarchy (corrupt conglomerate) has been influencing belief and choices through public education policy and Information Operations (which encompasses Narrative Warfare, Public Affairs, Public Diplomacy, PsyOps etc) for years.

This is the mass-scale publishing of biased meanings regarding facts on huge platforms, publications, news sources, establishing media “authority” - all for the purpose of perpetuating group-think and forced normalization of psychological beliefs to support their ideas - which actually strip freedom, power and finances away from you.

Q is not the enemy here folks, not by a long shot.

Saw this back the night I ended up baking Scotland#2. Board #1 was hanging up badly, would do a post, have to be set for last 50, and still had to F5 to be able to see it. Over 700 (something like 710) and I wanted to wait, but things were just awful. A few minutes after I got #2 up, refugees came i from General Research because the posts weren't showing there and baker for GR had a massive lag trying to get a new bread done. Finally GR had a new one working and the new company for Scotland departed. Even TOR was doing badly that night

The AIS system has satellite connections but generally depends on shore-based receivers. Ships that have been out of range for over two years, or listed as "lost" or "decommissioned" or "dead" have this habit of confusing that particular website so it tries to "guesstimate" the ship's location. Many times I find locations estimated to be well inland.

Imagine strolling by and asking the manager if they were aware the floating pub was considered "stopped" in the Eastern United States?

Was wanting anons to have a chuckle.

Sometimes the situation sorts itself out, like when the DDoS or other shenanigans have been especially intense.

I can think of only one time the boards all went twonky and it was due to some kind of server updates or such, but that was back in 8chan days.

I look at it these days as going to the supermarket and getting the one cart in the whole store with the messed up front wheel. Either let it get to you or look at the other shoppers and go "Yes, yes indeed, I got the cool one"
